How’s everyone feeling about the team as of right now?

Personally speaking, I am still finding it really hard to be excited about things. Usually I’ll get pretty amped up for the draft and find a sliver of hope as to how the team can/will be good during the upcoming season. Right now though, I just don’t have it.

I’ve never been this emotionally detached from the Cowboys. I thought the dejection after the 49er game catastrophe would subside, but it hasn’t.

I’ve religiously watched the Cowboys since I was 7 years old, and that won’t change. But I just can’t find it in me to me excited about anything concerning the team or organization. I can appreciate when they play well during the regular season, but at the end of the day, I (and any reasonable fan) want/need more. And as currently constructed, a few good regular season performances is the absolute best we can hope for from this team. Because once January rolls around, we all know how the script plays out.

I don’t know. I guess I wanted to do a general check in with you guys and see where you’re at. And maybe some of you can help me find something to be optimistic or excited about.

I'd suggest this may be due to the time of the season. I have been a fan since day one and normally find I do not get enthused until the draft comes up. Especially since Jerry and Little Enos don't play the free agent game much at all.

I will say one of the circumstances which influences this feeling of ennui is the growing acrimony this site has taken on. There is no discussion which does not have a healthy sprinkling of rancid commentary by those who believe every thread should reflect the posters feeling of hopelessness. Makes it difficult to come here and read when you must filter out 8 negative comments to find that one positive reply.

What takes this from bad to worse is the people making those posts of spite just repeat themselves from thread to thread.

Keep your chin up, The Draft isn't that far way.

Still here, dejected but hopeful. I don't believe the team will take much of a step back. I think we can overcome the losses.

Moreover I am upset I don't see us taking a step forward either. I expect a similar season, where we win 10 or 11 games and peter out in the playoffs.

Who knows maybe things come together? Maybe we have an awesome draft, pick up some key vets post draft and find our running game? I'll be excited if we beef up the oline and the defense continues to improve.

This year however, I won't be over the top until I see we are playing well in December.

I am as depressed as the Campo years...reason being, we could have made ourselves a VERY formidable team, but Booger and Chuckles chose to put us even FURTHER behind the big boys. We have been totally lapped. There is ZERO chance of an NFC Championship appearance by us next year, no matter how well the draft goes. So why be excited. There is NO WAY that Duk Pratfall will be able to adapt to this many changes at WR....he is going to be VERY average at best!!!

Gonna hear a lot of postgame..... "I need to be better.....I will be better."

I was feeling really down about the talent drain from the team this offseason and the lack of decent free agents to make up the deficit in any significant way, but then Jerry signed with Blockchain. Wooo, baby. We won the offseason and cemented our position as the richest franchise in sports.

And some people say that Jerry doesn't known what he's doing.

Feel about the same way as you do.
It's become abundantly clear to me that as long as Jerry is the GM and sets the tone for the culture here we are never going to have much post season success.
When you have witnessed the Landry and Johnson dynasties it's really hard to get excited when you know you are going to be one and done in the playoffs.

I feel great. I'm glad that Gregory, Collins, Williams, and Cooper are gone. I'm very excited about the draft. The Cowboys are going to be good again this year. They probably will win the division again. They should have double digit wins again.

I think that’s the main source of my pessimism as well. They cleared space and had an opportunity to throw some chips to the table and buy themselves a TRUE shot at a championship. But instead, it’s more bargain shopping and glamorizing the few mediocre additions they’ve made.

I can’t shake the belief that winning may be a secondary concern for those making all of the decisions; revenue being king. They’d rather be cheapskates under the guise of “cap consciousness”, and use some fancy salesman spin tactics to sell the fan base that they’re really in it to win it.

Just feels like the same old song and dance. And I am so beyond bored of that song.

I’m excited to see a 2nd year parsons. But none of the off-season has made me excited for next year. It feels like it’s going to be another one a done season.

I would be more excited about the team if they just tanked and got rid of the expensive underperforming people and went young. This is like . . . minimal interest. I have rarely seen a team actively try to be mediocre. Some teams try to get good, some teams try to reset . . . Dallas shoots for relevance.
