I watched 1 full game last season and part of another. My enthusiasm if I were to rate it from 1-10, with 10 being the highest, is probably around 3 or 4. I don't really care what happens this season as far as wins because I don't believe we win a super bowl with this coach. I'm hoping to see him walk after this season and start fresh for the 2023 season. If that happens, my enthusiasm will be more at a 8.

One thing that seems really tragic to me concerning the Cowboys' organization currently is that its leadership lives in denial of their failures.

Stephen is unwittingly showing his cards, in terms of ignoring the betterment of his team in order to foster the Joneses financial greediness.

At this point in time, I think there's no doubt that Stephen's attempts to ignore the necessity of hiring elite vet free agents today is foolhardy!

I'm very negative on this team. In my real world and life, things are great. Career is moving along, happy family all the important things.

With my free time I enjoy following the Cowboys, HOWEVER.......

I find little interest in following a team who isn't committed to winning, who really doesn't care. If the team / owner doesn't care, why should I? This team was good last season, really a few players away from going deeper into the playoffs.....and a new Coach / GM. Instead of using this brief window to go all in, the Cowboys brain trust decides to again do it their way and let the good teams get better while the Cowboys are worse today then during the SF game. Jerruh and son really don't care, so why should I ?

Between the 49ers game, losing more than we gained (as usual) in free agency, the later draft picks, the lack of any urgency by the front office, Dak's declining play last year, all of the scandals with Dalrymple and Jerrah's daughter, how aggressive a few other good teams are being when the NFC looks to be as easy to win as ever in recent memory while Cap Boy just sits on his hands, letting Amari go for pennies, the coaching controversy with Payton, etc etc etc..... Yeah, I'm pretty damn exhausted with this team. They can just never get it all together at the right time.

The only good thing about this offseason is that after this year Dallas should have an excellent cap situation and will be rid of all bad contracts and should be able to build a contending team even with Dak's contract. The problem is they won't actually do anything with the cap room to win.

How’s everyone feeling about the team as of right now?

Personally speaking, I am still finding it really hard to be excited about things. Usually I’ll get pretty amped up for the draft and find a sliver of hope as to how the team can/will be good during the upcoming season. Right now though, I just don’t have it.

I’ve never been this emotionally detached from the Cowboys. I thought the dejection after the 49er game catastrophe would subside, but it hasn’t.

I’ve religiously watched the Cowboys since I was 7 years old, and that won’t change. But I just can’t find it in me to me excited about anything concerning the team or organization. I can appreciate when they play well during the regular season, but at the end of the day, I (and any reasonable fan) want/need more. And as currently constructed, a few good regular season performances is the absolute best we can hope for from this team. Because once January rolls around, we all know how the script plays out.

I don’t know. I guess I wanted to do a general check in with you guys and see where you’re at. And maybe some of you can help me find something to be optimistic or excited about.

Well said.

When they didn't resign Gregory, which caught them by surprise, there apparently have no alternate plans what to do with the cap space.
Unless they have a grand scheme up their sleeves, it seems like a rebuild season. Can't count on draft choices to step in each year.

Doesn't matter. If they do good or bad, nothing will ever change me being a fan. Many fans let their emotions get the best of them. After all, it's only a game.

I'd suggest this may be due to the time of the season. I have been a fan since day one and normally find I do not get enthused until the draft comes up. Especially since Jerry and Little Enos don't play the free agent game much at all.

I will say one of the circumstances which influences this feeling of ennui is the growing acrimony this site has taken on. There is no discussion which does not have a healthy sprinkling of rancid commentary by those who believe every thread should reflect the posters feeling of hopelessness. Makes it difficult to come here and read when you must filter out 8 negative comments to find that one positive reply.

What takes this from bad to worse is the people making those posts of spite just repeat themselves from thread to thread.

Keep your chin up, The Draft isn't that far way.
I read fewer and fewer of the threads in the Fan Zone, because I know by the title there will inevitably be a large percentage of negative, and whiny posts about the team, individual players, salaries, and the FO. How many times do we need to read that crap? Sure, if the Joneses read them, I could maybe see beating that horse to death, but complaining to all the people who already know how you feel is fruitless and annoying. I spend most of my CZ time in the Off Topic Zone, where the more jovial people and threads tend to be.

so you're saying we haters should head on over to the off-topic zone for fun.

Post of the day.

This place has become more like the WZ....WhineZone

Yup my enthusiasm level for the team is as expected this time of year and the closer to the game 1 opener the more excited i get.

the enthusiasm for this place and how that makes me feel about my team is in the minus area

This place is straight up downersville, all the complaining whining and Debbie downer loser attitude!!

where it seems 75% of this place all they do 24-7 is go out of their way to chat on the team..Noone puts baby in the corner LOL..if they jab my team im jabbing back and taking my benching's..if its that bothersome why follow the team at all, let alone sign up for daily posting on sites like this just to bash the team you allegedly claim you are fan of??

I’ve never been this emotionally detached from the Cowboys.

This is the only professional sports team I follow.

Your statement here is a great description of what I am seeing among forums and places I visit to follow the Cowboys activity.
