That is one of the sins of the father - hang on until it's far too late.Book of Jerral: Ch 1 V1 : "We like our guys"
That wagon getting smaller, crash.
I wasn’t excited until the announcement yesterday.
Say it with me. Block. Chain.
How’s everyone feeling about the team as of right now?
Personally speaking, I am still finding it really hard to be excited about things. Usually I’ll get pretty amped up for the draft and find a sliver of hope as to how the team can/will be good during the upcoming season. Right now though, I just don’t have it.
I’ve never been this emotionally detached from the Cowboys. I thought the dejection after the 49er game catastrophe would subside, but it hasn’t.
I’ve religiously watched the Cowboys since I was 7 years old, and that won’t change. But I just can’t find it in me to me excited about anything concerning the team or organization. I can appreciate when they play well during the regular season, but at the end of the day, I (and any reasonable fan) want/need more. And as currently constructed, a few good regular season performances is the absolute best we can hope for from this team. Because once January rolls around, we all know how the script plays out.
I don’t know. I guess I wanted to do a general check in with you guys and see where you’re at. And maybe some of you can help me find something to be optimistic or excited about.
When they didn't resign Gregory, which caught them by surprise, there apparently have no alternate plans what to do with the cap space.Between the 49ers game, losing more than we gained (as usual) in free agency, the later draft picks, the lack of any urgency by the front office, Dak's declining play last year, all of the scandals with Dalrymple and Jerrah's daughter, how aggressive a few other good teams are being when the NFC looks to be as easy to win as ever in recent memory while Cap Boy just sits on his hands, letting Amari go for pennies, the coaching controversy with Payton, etc etc etc..... Yeah, I'm pretty damn exhausted with this team. They can just never get it all together at the right time.
The only good thing about this offseason is that after this year Dallas should have an excellent cap situation and will be rid of all bad contracts and should be able to build a contending team even with Dak's contract. The problem is they won't actually do anything with the cap room to win.
I read fewer and fewer of the threads in the Fan Zone, because I know by the title there will inevitably be a large percentage of negative, and whiny posts about the team, individual players, salaries, and the FO. How many times do we need to read that crap? Sure, if the Joneses read them, I could maybe see beating that horse to death, but complaining to all the people who already know how you feel is fruitless and annoying. I spend most of my CZ time in the Off Topic Zone, where the more jovial people and threads tend to be.I'd suggest this may be due to the time of the season. I have been a fan since day one and normally find I do not get enthused until the draft comes up. Especially since Jerry and Little Enos don't play the free agent game much at all.
I will say one of the circumstances which influences this feeling of ennui is the growing acrimony this site has taken on. There is no discussion which does not have a healthy sprinkling of rancid commentary by those who believe every thread should reflect the posters feeling of hopelessness. Makes it difficult to come here and read when you must filter out 8 negative comments to find that one positive reply.
What takes this from bad to worse is the people making those posts of spite just repeat themselves from thread to thread.
Keep your chin up, The Draft isn't that far way.
so you're saying we haters should head on over to the off-topic zone for fun.I read fewer and fewer of the threads in the Fan Zone, because I know by the title there will inevitably be a large percentage of negative, and whiny posts about the team, individual players, salaries, and the FO. Post of the day.
