Who would you rather have? It is a flat out no brainer for me...it's Jimmy G. For the life of me, I cannot understand why SF is in such a hurry to replace him. SF was one Eli Manning pop fly type throw and catch by KC in the Super Bowl from winning one himself....until that happened, they were toast. Is Jimmy G great? No. But he has more tools than Dak, who will NEVER sniff a Super Bowl. Does Dak have a no trade clause? If not, let's get something going....we are wasting our time by doing nothing.

Um Jimmy G is good at nothing and is always hurt. I think he has had 1 season that did not end up with him being injured and missing the rest of it. Right now he cannot throw because he has had surgery on his throwing shoulder. However, even when healthy he is not in the same league as Dak. Trading a top 10 QB for a below average QB (ignoring that Dak's contract makes him untradable even if he were a direct swap for Mahomes).

I believe Dak does have a no trade clause in his contract.
But with the guaranteed money in his contract you cant trade or cut him.

I don't covet other QB's, I just B and moan about the one we have. Maybe Dak looks at his position as just a job and really isn't all that concerned with winning. That's unacceptable to me, but I guess others are fine with it.
Just because a person doesn’t cry all day every day doesn’t mean he’s “fine with it”. Righteous speculation is kinda dumb.

Dak has more than double the career TD passes than Jimmy G and has 20 more rushing TDs. Any fan who says they would rather have Jimmy G’s production over Dak’s and believes he would make the Cowboys a better team is either stupid or a bold face liar!

I'll take the Super Bowl appearance over empty numbers...if we had Jimmy G and SF had Dak, we would have rolled them in our playoff game. Is anyone dumb enough to doubt that? I am NOT calling Jimmy G the second coming of John Elway, but he does have more tools than Dak and does win some big games....while Dak feasts on the East and very little more.

I always laugh at those like yourself who expose themselves as casual armchair fans. You’re absolutely lost if you think Jimmy G would have more success with the Cowboys than Dak. We have no running game, our OL is a mess and our defense still can’t stop anyone in critical games. Have you not been watching our games? There’s not a team in the league that would have success with Jimmy G passing the ball 40+ times a game. He’s had issues with turnovers and he can’t stay healthy. Explain what tools Jimmy G has over Dak?

The reason the 49ers are in a rush to see him go is because they actually watch him play unlike you lol. Nobody is taking Jimmy G unless they have to. I do wonder how many ways can people say “Dak sucks” on this site lol…this one is a new low.

How many fans would seriously want a QB who’s never had a 4000 yard season and never threw for more than 27 TDs in a season and has just undergone shoulder surgery on their throwing shoulder? That’s the QB you would rather have than Dak? Lol

I would be the first one to admit that when Jimmy G was with NE to wanted us to get him in FA but now I would take Dak over him. Dak has intangibles that Jimmy doesn’t have. With all be physically equal and they pretty much are, I’ll take those any day.

This really makes no sense. You may not know why the 49ers are ready to give up on him, but their perspective carries a lot more weight.

I would have no problem if the Cowboys could have signed Rogers, or made a deal for a disgruntled Russell Wilson, or had a pick near the top of the draft to spend, but Garoppolo hasn't been one iota better than Dak, it would cost draft picks to get him, and we would have to negotiate a new deal to keep him beyond 2022.
