I wonder if he was considered / was interested in a HC position with the revamped XFL for 2023?
Wade Phillips, Bob Stoops, Rod Woodson and Hines Ward will be over four of the eight teams.

Maybe as a QB coach.

So teams didn’t line-up to even hire him as an assistant or position coach, nor was he able to land a decent college coaching gig?

Remember, this was the guy Romo was saddled with. By the time Dak came around, he was relegated to “walk around HC” by the Owner. Part of the Garrett era was Jones doing everything in his power to make folks believe Garrett deserved credit.
and yet he continues to make millions per year.
although maybe not for the usfl, they dont have much money, but he could be working for fox, no nbc, so he probably is still making a million or so per year.
ex NFL players have it great.

You would think someone with enough money to invest in a sports league would see that every single league except the nfl has failed

Because they actually tried to compete with the NFL, paying big money to lure them away.
They spent far more, than they brought in initially. Not a good business model to start.

These new leagues are not trying to compete head to head, salary caps in place for all players. All making about the same, or each portion gets paid a caution amount.
The have a better business plan in place.

They will have players that are off of NFL roster, the ones that don't make the PS or rather play in a game than be on the PS. As well, some older players, that are not signed with teams, because they are not worth the vet pay from the NFL.

Not that this will make them successful, but I give them credit for trying.

It’s a much better business plan for sure. But revenue is the key and TV is the biggest revenue you can get. Without a TV deal of some sort it’s hard. That’s the issue the WNBA has, just can’t attract enough viewers to generate a good TV deal so most players have to go over seas to make a living
With streaming options and if they could work out a revenue stream from gambling then they may be able to create some revenue and be successful but it’s a tough road

LOL.

I can remember some here lecturing fans that it was a mistake to let Garrett go and that he'd have a head job in a blink of an eye.

And yet the results are basically the same. The defense has been turned around but like I said, the results haven't changed thus far.

If the Clapper doesn't make it in this job the next stop will be the Taco Bell employment line . Princeton must be so proud of this POS.
JG is a millionaire, probably has at least 40 mil in the bank, so he doesnt even have to work.
He was actually ok as an announcer, except at the first, when you could see him, he just had this gleeful look that is a little creepy.
he sees how much tony is making, so decided to get into that line of work lol.
He might also be trying to get in good with them so they let him be HC of one of their teams !

Jason seemed like your average run of the mill color guy. Nothing too bad, nothing spectacular either. We have had much worse color guys on TV, so there’s that.

You think he's really struggling for money? lol

Ridiculous blind hatred apparently leads to irrational thought.

So he wasn't a strong NFL coach? That can be said of boatloads of people that have been head coaches in the NFL over the years. Most of them. That doesn't make them worthy of this kind of irrational disdain. It's not evil or immoral. It's just a tough job that few excel at.

I never liked having Jason as the HC of the Cowboys, but I think he did an OK job on the USFL broadcasts. Evidently someone had told him to smile, because he's grinning with every word he says. Maybe a little creepy.

People who rag on Garrett just dislike him for never being qualified for the job and wasting over a decade of time. A guy who politicked his way around for longer than he would’ve got elsewhere (just like the GM/owner) in an organization with a history that should be hiring the crème de la crème. Minorities like me see nepotism, the opposite of meritocracy, the subtle rich “white boys” club of privilege in play (the one that made Garrett a multimillion many times over) that takes the place of those who don’t get the opportunity even if they’re more qualified and just better. The team had a partially minority QB better at coaching than the coach on the field for over a decade.

I thought Jerry said if Garrett was ever fired he'd have another head coaching job within an hour. He can't get any NFL coaching now it appears. To think he was give a decade in Dallas, what a waste of time and careers.
Jerry said that.....not as a reflection on Garrett....but as a reflection on himself. You do know that Jerry is always discovering things about football that no one else ever has!
