Jerruh doesn't care about rankings, in his mind and his pocket book he is #1, that's all that matters to him.

So it’s Jerry’s fault the team sucks. But when a list does not have him near the bottom or at the bottom. It is someone’s else’s reason he is ranked higher.

What’s untrue about what I said?

How many G m's on the list with a record of 25 years and no superbowl appearances?
I'll wait

If there were two separate Jerry’s, the owner and the GM, there is zero chance Jerry the Owner would have kept Jerry the GM for 25 years.

Let that sink in.

you are missing the point. You don't keep your job for 25+ years if you are average. You either produce or your are out. That's the way it works anywhere else BUT here!

P.S. - Jason Garrett realized real quick that he was no longer in Dallas. From head coach in Dallas, to offensive coordinator in NY, to USFL broadcast booth!!!!!!! Just OUT the NFL all together!
You keep it as long as you want it when you are the owner...some of you miss that point....no amount of whining or griping will change that. Why put yourself through that misery?

Relative to the league? Yeah they do.

I think we are so sheltered and don't see what goes on around the league. Many pundits and analysts have used various methods to value drafting success and the Cowboys are usually near the top. I think some here equate drafting well with postseason success and since we have none that means we stink at drafting. But there actually isn't that strong a correlation between drafting well and postseason success. Because drafting alone doesn't get you squat.

Yeah, there are numerous articles about the draft and pretty much all of them rank Dallas' drafts over the recent past pretty highly. People can just say no but you have to consider all the factors. They have had some very nice drafts.

So you are concluding that we draft well because the rest of the league sucks at it?

Thats like saying Jerry is a good GM because there are Dave Gettleman’s, Mike Mayock’s, and Ryan Pace’s out there

Well yeah that's kind of how it works?

No one is perfect in the draft. Even the best drafting teams have misses, some pretty big ones at that. Are you saying 90% of the league stinks at drafting?

No one said Jerry is a good GM. That's just a strawman. Jerry is a decidedly mediocre GM, because GM means more than drafting. Jerry is a decidedly mediocre GM because while their drafting tends to be good, they fail at two very big aspects of team building - FA and hiring of coaches. You can't win if you just do 33% fairly well and the rest crappy.

No that is not how it works

Ill take it a step further. I can show you more evidence that the drafting isnt “good” than you can show me that it is

Ill start it off by asking you, was Zeke a good draft pick?

Sydia, don't go down the rabbit hole with these Jerry lovers...you ain't changing their mind. Let them think Jerry is the best GM in the league and is just having an off two and half decades. They'll even tell you he was the mastermind behind those 3 SBs won by Jimmy's teams. Well, we know now he sure as heck only signed the checks at that time given the fact they haven't even sniffed an NFCCG this century. Should have kept it that way. Most of them are also Dak jock sniffers. Same thing.

Jerry Jones .....best Draft Guru and GM in the NFL!!!!!!:muttley:
1. Telegraphs draft picks

2. Always gets fleeced in drafts day trades

3. Cant scout a DE if their lives depended on it

4. Gambles with every friggin 2nd rounder

5. Defers to his coordinators too often and ends up with the likes of Trysten Hill and Taco Charlton

B b but he drafts well!!!

Jerry is 16th. Right in that sweet spot of positively average.

The writeup is pretty spot on. They draft fairly well but it's just about every other aspect of team building that they aren't all that good.

Well here is my take:
Free agency: D
Contract management: D
Coaching hires: D
Draft: B
Overall: D +
Personally Jerry seems like a nice guy
Treats his players well.
Is very supportive of Charity's like the Salvation Army.
I just don't think he has the skill set to be a successful GM.
The results the last 27 years seems to support my observations.

I'm in a much better place than I was 35....I am 50 now. I just feel badly for my 15 year old...she is all in...and does not understand how hopeless this situation is.

My daughter was all in with my games.....I purposely kept her away from the Cowboys....it is very frustrating
