Brown, Samuel and McLaurin are all wanting new deals and planning to not report to camp.

Deebo has said he wants around $25 million per year, maybe more now. I'm sure the others won't be far behind.

Is this going to be the new norm for top WR around the league? Adams and Hill are already around $30 million per. Hopkins and Diggs aren't that far behind.

If Ceedee has a big year, I'm sure he's gonna be going for the same.

Not sure how teams are gonna work around the cap when you could have $60-70 million tied up in QB/WR

Sure glad we traded that easily restructured contract of Coopers for such value and all that cap savings we've used.

Will be the new norm, I was just listening to Jalen Ramsey on the Pivot Podcast and he mentioned how he was disappointed Lattimore and some other DBs didn’t jump him in contract. It’s been done now with Xavien Howard.

Even if this follows the DB market, it might cool for a year but one of these guys will jump Tyreek sooner than later.

Dont know that Lattimore is really in Ramsey's tier. Ward will probably jump him when he extends

Coopers contract would be a godsend right now. Hopefully though since they shipped him off, they don't overcorrect w/ ceedee. This megadollar wr trend is probably worse value than high priced rb at this rate. Even with the elite guys.

I do not want to see the Cowboys enter into this sweepstakes. There are more talented players in that WR body type and skillset coming into the league every year than pretty much any other position. The college football world is full of guys who are between 5'10" and 6'3" 185-220 pounds who can run like the wind and catch the ball. Since they all start playing 7 on 7 tournaments when they're 10 years old they are coming into the league better prepared than ever to contribute from day one. Overpaying for a WR is almost as dumb as overpaying for a RB. Unless you know a guy is off the charts "special" and perhaps more importantly, you know your OC is going to use him, it makes no sense to invest heavily in that position.

Be sure to take note that the smart, successful, Championship-winning teams shipped receivers out to the dumb teams that haven’t won anything for decades.

That does NOT include the Cowboys as the other teams at least got a decent RETURN for theirs, and didn’t have them locked into more affordable deals.

Samuel also had 60 carries and 8 rushing TDs on top of 77 receptions, 1400 yards and another 6 TDs. He has a legit gripe.

Amari’s contract looks cheap now.
It's going to look even cheaper by the time the season starts. Even excluding the Browns shifting his money around, he might end up out of the top 10 WR contracts going into the season.

The worst part is, we might not even be able to afford to extend CeeDee if this trend continues.

No disrespect for the truly elite WRs in the game right now, but it seems the WR position is starting to go the way of the RB position. Teams don't want to pay top WRs because they can be found middle rounds of the draft.

If you get a game-changing WR I think you still pay them, but outside of the top 5 guys or so I'd happily move on if they insisted on top money at the position. Too many 2nd/3rd round receivers becoming stars right now. Not only that but so many guys are being impactful year 1, seems with how the college game and pro game have become more similar, along with rule changes that favor offense, the WR position has become an easier transition.

Yah the smart teams will treat the WR position similar to the RB position. Draft one every couple of years, never pay these huge contracts.

It is not just a WR issue. Ramsey commented that he was disappointed no other CB had topped him.

The name of the game is push the limit on every position and since they decided they wanted this to be all about the QB's, stands to reason QB, WR and LT are moving up at a disproportionate rate to the cap increase.

Getting Prescott to 40M was all about agent strategy to get an unfair share for the QB's and now they're pushing the WR's.

As long as the league continues to keep an unrealistic cap on rosters, the rates will climb. They should increase the rosters with the cap and let more share in the wealth.

As far as the WR's are concerned, I wouldn't have a #1WR on a 2nd contract, ever. There are too many of them and it doesn't show any signs of slowing. Same with RB's. There are 16 good WR's in this draft.

Agree completely. The college game is built around the passing game and having these ultra-athletic WRs doing many things. This is where having a set O philosophy would help. Draft your WRs and get them in the system…rinse repeat. Paying WR can be fools gold.
