Nothing but a dangled carrot in front of our faces.
I can name at least two members who are trying to reach for it.
The carrot isn't for us die-hards that pay attention to everything with a magnified glass.
It's for the peeps that are casuals that are in the 40's-50's with kids and they're making plans to go to the stadium/start watching games with their children and indoctrinate them into the clan.

I don't doubt the Cowboys aren't done in free agency. There will be a ton of undrafted free agents to sign ;)!

Have a good time with this...

They may feel that way, but it's not true. When you wait until all that's left is players no team feels any urgency to pick up, then you can't go into the draft pure because you've got some spots that have to be seen as priorities. It will be like last year at corner. We were going to take a corner in the first round last year, but were saved from it and took Parsons instead. Then, we forced it in the second round because we weren't sure what we had would be good enough.

We're looking at the same situation at several positions this year.

We can't be satisfied with the prospect of starting McGovern at guard since he couldn't even hold down the spot enough last year to keep penalty-prone Williams off the field. Sure, we could not be done in FA and pick up a vet after the draft, but there's no guarantee that those available won't be picked up by some other team.

We can't be satisfied at wide receiver considering Gallup's injury. Our starters right now for the first few games would be Lamb, cheap pickup Washington and Noah Brown. If we're comfortable with that combination, there's something wrong with us.

Not sure we can be satisfied at tight end, although we did play without Jarwin for most of the year, but we also didn't get much production out of the No. 2 TE.

Those three positions, if none other, keep this from being a pure draft. We either address them, get a cheap vet and hope for the best or lose out to other teams trying to sign those cheap vets for cheaper.

I’m 5’9 170lb 40+ with degenerative disc disease. Coming off back surgery. Say hi to your new starting lg.

Stephen was a hard negotiator, he insisted Dak still highest paid on the team. But I figured a dollar less wasn’t too bad.

The Stephen sure drives a hard bargain.

I think I hate Stephen Jones.

At least Jerry has some charisma.

Stephens just a rich kid playing with daddy's money. And he actually thinks he's good at it.

This plan was obvious weeks ago. Jerry and Stephen don't want to lose those comp picks. The Monday after the draft they can start signing free agents and it doesn't affect the comp picks they have accumulated from the free agents lost. Projections have them currently getting a 4th for Randy Gregory, 6th for Cedric Wilson., and a 6th for Connor Williams in the 2023 draft. Start signing people after the draft and they don't risk losing those comp picks.

By jove, JJ, a 4th is good!
A 6th round pick is a throwaway.
But offer the 6th round pick to some other team for a 5th in 2023 or 4th in 2024.
See, already I am better than Stephen.
