Deebo has every right like any employee to negotiate the conditions of his employment. And I don’t blame him for being concerned about the toll his body is taking by the carries he’s getting. It shows how aware these players are of the dangers of being an NFL RB.

Free market societies like ours let him negotiate or move on with his current employer. If he gets traded the 49ers will land at least 2 first round picks.

watch everyone link him to Dallas

that man wants money and he isnt going to play for the vet minimum...

so its no need to be upset when we pass him by, if you see an article that says cowboys have interest just ignore it

I’d bet Deebo doesn’t mind being used a few times a game in a wide back role and take carries but excessively doing it all game long a
Over and over and over? it’s gonna ruin him. There’s also the fact that being an all pro wr he’ll get paid more than being looked at as a receiver who is elite only at hand offs

and no he’s not coming here.....the draft cost then they have to pay him? We know better

This is cool NFL news but I realistically look over my shoulder at Jerry and Stephen, shake my head and wonder what other team will go all in.

I get his concerns with mileage, but he was ultra effective and Shanny would be a fool not to utilize his skill set. He makes an argument to be paid over the top though, because he's playing the hell out of 2 positions.

Perhaps start by pacing his running usage. There are times I'm sure it isn't necessary.

It's always about the money with players no matter what they say.

They should just admit it and stop using excuses.
In this case, I think it's both. He doesn't want the work load of a RB nor the money that usually comes with that role these days. He wants the money and role of a true WR.

Why would a team want to trade big assets for a guy who wants to avoid football contact?

It makes more and more sense to just play predominately with first contract guys. Let the stars move on.

Those big contracts are almost always regretted unless they're quarterbacks.

Normally, I'd want a WR like him....but what good is speed with Duk, when the ball is never where you want it in stride?

I am not saying that players never have multiple reasons for situations like this, but the main catalyst is always money.

If the 49ers stopped playing him at running back, it would not change his demand for a trade and/or desire for a new contract.

I am not judging him for it (he's not on the Cowboys so I do not care), but he and other players should stop acting like it's about other smaller things and simply admit that they just want to get paid.

Spoiled??? He was practically the only offensive weapon the 49ers had last season. Shanahan was going to run him into the ground like the Cowboys did with Murray. This a business decision.
So is utilizing talent on your roster. WRs are the new RBs.
