On Collins, people want to forget that he is one false step away from a one year suspension....and they apparently test him several times a week, and feels like he can invent his own excuses to miss them, and how to go about that.

That had to be a factor for teams. It would have been for me.

He signed for the same money he was making, so it wasn't that.
The line was better when Steele played RT.

guys like Collins affect chemistry in a bad way. The guy clearly didn’t give a *****.
The fact that jones made the call to move on from both Cooper and Collins impressed me. He made the right call for the franchise. That’s admitting a mistake. Gives me hope he will cut zeke next year.

I agree. I really wouldn't know but that cohesiveness as a unit for the OL really meant something apparently.

I mean, all at the same time....Collins returned, McGovern replaced Williams and the entire offense went to hell. Biadasz' play fell off a cliff.

Collins is a more talented player than Steele but all considered, I had no problem with the move. One costs 10m the other next to nothing.

I thought Steele was pretty bad at LT so I'm glad he is out of the swing role.

Cheap? We tried to dump 70 mil on Gregory. We want to overspend...on our family, on our pet projects. It has nothing to do with improving the team, but making sure our favorites are well paid and stay forever, no matter how they play.

Gregory blew his playoff appearance with so many stupid penalties.

I'm not all that upset about him leaving.

We won't cut ZEKE for Zeke will become all world and will have 23,726 rushing yards 67 TOUCHDOWNS and 1864 recieving yards just so we can be faced with the option to keep him

I think it is more about wasting the 2nd round draft pick on projects that has hurt the cowboys more than not spending in FA. They need to draft better.

From a player standpoint, virtually every team spends almost up to the cap every season. There is no team spending significantly less or more than the others.

Dallas just has a bad history of misallocating its money. Its a good thing the team is good at drafting or they would be a perennial 4 win team.

This is the 1,000,000.00 question!!!
The proverbial elephant in the room!

Jerry despite other faults was never cheap.
This seems to have come about since Stephen has had greater influence.

I think more than being cheap, Stephen is just very adverse to taking risk.
You have to know what your doing to successfully take risks and obviously Stephen doesn’t.

The whole division is rebuilding, this team has enough talent to make it to the playoffs and as long as they stay healthy, we have enough talent to get the job done.
We were very healthy last year and didn’t get it done. We’ve lost more talent than we’ve gained and I don’t see the draft replacing that this year, so I don’t see how we have enough talent to get the job done.

I’m just a simple man.

The Cowboys are the richest team in the NFL……but we are cheap

What are we saving this cap space for?

Kindly excuse me if I seem a suspicious sort but I have a hunch Stephen wants a super-expensive yacht, just like his daddy's! :muttley:

With huge contracts such as Zeke, Dak & Dlaw, how can anyone call Dallas cheap?! o_O

You are about as ignorant as a fan can be. There is a limit to what the Cowboys can spend each year because of the salary cap. If Jones could use his riches he most certainly would .

Not cheap, just stupid. Over 30 years of on the job training and still clueless.

They will probably take some of the Collins money on June 1 and sign Steele to a new contract. That leaves about $12 million+ that they'll back fill any gaps not filled in the first two days of the draft.

We aren't cheap. We have to restructure contracts just about every off season to get under the cap. We have cap space now b/c of those restructures, but its borrowed money. We have 2 buffoons running the team who have no direction or organizational philosophy. Is it really surprising they have no idea who to sign or what to do with the money?
