Eb was a bust for sure but I guess you never Shante Carver play, thankfully he played very little.
If Larry Allen hadn't been in that draft it might have been the worst ever. Carver was their number one pick that year. Pretty sure they found out after they drafted him that his 40 time was actually run for only 35 yards and he was a 4.9 forty guy. I remember his one career highlight being a sack where the opposing QB ran right into him on a busted play.

Jerry’s first pick seems fitting. He loves a good war daddy!

I always laugh when people bring up Jay Novacek, a player I loved, but all the guys hating on Schultz need to compare stats. Novacek played on SB winning teams with a HOF QB, and he never even came close to the season Schultz just put up in his second year as the starter.
Novacek could block. He could seal the edge Unlike Dalton

Serviceable players who we expected more out of are not the worst players. Carpenter, RWilliams, Jacque Reeves, those guys are not even in the conversation!!!
people just venting their spleen against their pet hates.

I had forgotten Weeden . Maybe the worst Cowboy QB ever .

My choice was Chaz Green who made an Atlanta Falcon a National story one game he gave up five sacks to the guy when JG threw him to the wolves . DQ was coaching Atlanta then . It was a nightmare .
I’d be pissed it my coaches threw me out there on National tv if I wasn’t ready. Or at least change the gameplan to help me. That guy had to go back to his family and put on a brave face after that game that sucks

10 pages in and no mention of Rico Gathers? Maybe it is because he never played…
did he ever look bad on the field? I just remember he had like 3 years to develop and I guess he never did . No shame in that !

You’re over thinking it. Sometimes guys who are clearly world class athletes like cate yet and reeves just are in over their head and played too many snaps wherein they hurt the teams chances of winning and as fans watching we knew it.

- Rod Hill CB
- Ron Francis CB
- Charlie Williams CB

- Gavin Escobar TE

- Ryan Leaf QB
- Drew Henson QB
- Babe Laufenberg QB

- Sherman Williams RB
- Paul Palmer RB

- Alexander Wright WR
- Roy Williams WR

- Alex Barron OT

- Danny Noonan DT
- Kevin Brooks DT
- Shante Carver DE

Some of these guys were not that bad, they just did not live up to expectations. David LaFleur was worse than Escobar. Shem Williams was not that bad. Roy Williams was just past his prime on and the downslope when the Cowboys traded for him. Danny Noonan was okay as a player but a bust as a 1st round pick.

If we are talking about the absolute worst or hopeless, I think guys like Ryan Leaf fit the bill other guys were just JAGs.

Surprising this list does not include more players from the 1988 and 1989 teams. Considering their record of 4-28 over those two season there must have been some awful players back then.

Oh No-ah Brown

I wish that someone with some Contract Law experience could do a deep dive investigation on him...there has to be a way to get him on a 2nd or 3rd Degree Theft Charge.
You haven;t been around very long have ya
Noah is your worst ever? Dude....

Dak should be charged with a felony for worst play ever when it counts in the throw in the dirt to Noah in OT.

Joseph Randle has to be right up there. After Demarco Murray left in free agency, that guy was handed the keys to the kingdom. He was set up to be ‘the guy’, running behind the best line in the league at that time.

He squandered the opportunity so badly that I think he’s currently in prison.
He is a lesson to us, among others. Do not be fooled by #2 numbers. We KEEP doing it....people even NOW want to do it so bad the pi$$ their pants about it.

Answer any way you think the criteria fits.

the first name that popped into my head was chad Hutchinson but I don’t think that’s really fair. He just kind of looked like a goober. No one likes chads.

couple other names like Justin beariault shouldn’t really count but you can go that way.

we kicked around guys like Phil costa and Alan ball for what seemed like years.

david buehler our backup kickoff specialist definitely didnt contribute much.

Screw all that it was Quincy carter. He is our worst player of all time
The radio announcer now- served as backup to Aikman until he had to actually play when Aikman went down to a knee injury-
Babe Laufenberg.
It was hard to watch.
I still don't know how he made Jimmy Johnson's roster.
He was like a scared Jr Varsity qb from high school when he had to play.

Other than Jim Jeffcoat, the 1978-1987 drafts were the worst ever. Tex Scramm, Gil Brandt and Landry lost their touch. Thye drove the Boys into a terrible state. People get old and lose their mental skills.

Kevin Brooks DL 1st rounder 1987, Big Ten Defensive MVP, drafted one year after Danny Noonan. These two big busts sealed Tom Landry's demise.

David LeFleur was also a monumental bust. Troy Aikman told the Boys to draft him. He was like a misplaced OT, slow as molasses.

Rondy Weston DL, Florida 3rd round 1989: Jimmy Johnson blew this one in his 1st draft.

Taco Charlton really hurts. How could they be so wrong about him. Trysten Hill has shown me squat. Marinelli was so wrong.

Let’s not forget the forgettable Ebenezer Ekuban Shante Carver duo. Drafted high because Jerry knew talent and they would provide pass rush .

Or the year Jerry loaded up on DB’s came away with Mario Edwards and Dwayne Goodrich and wasn’t it Kareem Larrimore who went to that powerhouse West Texas A&M who probably lost to Highland Park High school at some point .

Wasn't that the game in Atlanta. If we won we were in the playoffs{maybe?}. He was pretty bad.
