I'm aware, it will be more amusing when our all time passing leader is hated on though.

If he doesn’t win a Super Bowl he’s going to be hated regardless how many yards he has. Even if he were to win a Super Bowl he’ll still be hated by some. Hating Dak has become a hobby for some fans.

40,000 yards used to be able to get you into the HOF. Without the injuries Romo would have hit that mark. Without Garrett Romo probably could have had a SB. At least that's what us Romo lovers like to think.
right and yards only huh?? how about nearly double the TDs and half the ints?? curious of that excuse and narrative to dismiss romo and soon dak..i guess troy was held back by Jimmy and Emmitt LMAO Troys regular season numbers were baker Mayfield like, his playoff numbers were better but he did play with a HOF cast and many of the coaches were the best ever..lets calm down on some of this 90s luv regardless of how great they were it was cast of coaches and players that made each other better then the individuals they were.. zeke, dak Romo pugged into those teams they would have had the same successor close to it..its team game..fans want to dismiss that aspect but as team those 90s teams played as unit..when they didn't like that 21-0 nothing start against the 9ers the first Switzer year well they LOST. When many parts of tour team fail the rest fail. Those penalties int rh 9er game sunk us. troy and Emmitt would not be able to overcome those horrible mistakes. Why do i know we saw it that 9er game when down 21-0 and didn't come back..lost by 10..sound familiar...

He spent his first 5 seasons with Bill Parcells and Wade Phillips before Garrett and he didn’t come close to reaching a SB. He played some of his better playoff games under Garrett.
Bill and Wade were defensive guys. So they would have provided Tony with a decent defense. He played well enough for us to win way more playoff games then we did. But the defense was never there.

The defense was never there but he also turned the ball a lot especially in Dec. He committed more turnovers in critical games under Parcells and Wade Phillips than he did under Garrett.

He’ll likely finish the leader in both categories barring an injury shortened career.

Many will consider it just an accomplishment based on the era he’s playing in, but his name will be atop the rankings regardless.

Will be interesting to see how he’s viewed in 20 years.
The 3 best passers in Cowboys history are in this order 1. Roger Staubach 2. Troy Aikman 3. Toney Romo. I consider Dak behind Danny White but he could catch him after this season. Danny had a great 3 year stretch.

Are we gonna trot this old acorn out there again? When Staubach played opponents were allowed to brutalize QBs and WRs. Offenses ran the the ball 50% of the time. Staubach barely played until he was 29 years old. I see one top 50 all time player on the list. No context and nothing top see here.

Troy had the all time leading rusher in the backfield. Romo's best years, by win total, was when Barber and Murray had good years. Dak apparently needs 100 yards on the ground for him to win. I see a pattern there.

But if you have a play caller that's not going to stick to the run. Then you need to put up a lot of points or have a good defense. Jimmy stuck to the run as much as he could. And Parcells didn't have the best running backs during his era. Coaching matters and that's one thing we can agree on. We need a coach that's going to make the OC stick to the run.

I like to think he was joking when he said that. No one can be that stupid.
I don't think he was joking. I think he was using hyperbole to express how impressed he was with Tony's ability to make something out of nothing. Unfortunately, he was so impressed with it, he decided to spend his money on other areas of team, rather than protection for the QB.

Youth, inexperience, and his wildcat nature could be the blame for some of that. He was just like Brett Favre when it came to taking chances.

Roger very little yards but has rings. Aikman a lot of yards a lot of rings. They really have nothing to do with each other

Yeah but here's the kicker. He was saying that in 2013 before the draft. That year we drafted Travis Fredrick. Then we drafted Zack Martin the following year. So I like to think we was just putting out fake Intel before the 2013 draft.

Hopefully he was, or thank goodness someone talked him out of his own thought process.

By then, it was a day late and a dollar short.

Romo had to wait in the wings too long. It's too bad he got old and fragile, I think he might have won the SB his last year if his body held up. Look at how Romo kept the plays alive under heavy pressure, Dak panics under pressure. Not saying Dak is horrible, but since his injury he can handle pressure.

These stats are why the haters are so pathetic. He has been amazing in almost every way for us, yet, they find things to cling to trying to bring him down.

They will all end up with egg on their faces.

Different eras
Anyone that plays for any length of time in today's game will be breaking records long-term.

Really, nothing against Romo or Dak, but that is just how it is.

Both Romo and Dak would win multiple SB's with either Rogers team or Aikmans team.

Neither Roger or Aikman wins one SB with the teams and coaches that either Dak and Romo had. NONE!!!

Romo would have easily been the king of America's team winging the ball on Rogers Team.

Dak easily leads Aikmans teams to SB's.
