Who cares if you don’t like how he expresses his fandom. Is there something you don’t like about the points he’s made. Or just can’t handle the criticism ?
@CouchCoach will always be fist-to-chest for me because he's a genuine guy that's funny, irreverent and adds a ton to this forum and I truly appreciate posters like that.
Now, will I go toe-to-toe with other posters over him? Certainly not!
It's a message board so who cares? People getting their neck-hairs raised over trivialities can go their own way, as far as I'm concerned.

I could tell you stories about Pacman Jones, my RIP father custom made his 24kt gold wheels back in the day.
Met him, and my father and I both agreed that the man was a real jerk.

This doesn't surprise me. I don't think anyone following football would have thought Pacman Jones represented the pinnacle that society had to offer.

He just drew a lottery card on having physical ability. What he had for brains he drew a voided cheque.

Did he make it rain? That was another great talking point.
He made it rain pain on hard working stiffs in a sweat shop in Midlothian TX, that we ran back then.
It was a go to shop for many Cowboys players back then, was out of the way and discreet, and we took care of our "Boys".
It was Cowboys shopping for wheels and tricking out rides go to, several Cowboys frequented and respected what we did.
Dealing with Pacman was a no win situation, cost us double with no profit just accommodating his stupidity... lol
He just was not a very smart individual, that insisted on doing what we already knew to be wrong, he insisted on doing it wrong... lol
He dropped 75k back then on wheels, and it cost our small company over 100k to make him finally leave.
Just one of the dumbest people with money to burn that I have ever encountered.

Ugh. Had to do crap business to continue Business, eh?
Yuck. I understand the feeling.

I think he knows, he just doesn’t care. If the Cowboys lose a few fans, so what? The money is still rolling in.
The money rolling in probably gives him some sense of success.
But on the field has been mediocre for 27 years.
How do you justify that?

I have no issue with the way he expresses his fandom. A lot of what he said I agree with. However, he wouldn’t have made this long post and be airing out his frustrations about Jerry and the team day after day if he wasn’t passionate about the team. He can moderate the board without talking about the team. He’s involved in football discussions as much as any of us. If this was no longer my team I wouldn’t be posting.

If I’m our owners I’m thinking the fans are thrilled with the product .

If fans are unhappy with the Dallas Cowboys we need to send him a message he’ll understand.

Corso, I could tell you wonderful stories about several Cowboys players during that era that just were all incredible individuals.
We bent over and took it with Pacman because we had a great inside rep with the franchise.
I got Dez Bryant first ever signed Jersey hanging in my closet,, dude was just cool, and David Wells brought him in and introduced the rook to us.

Back in the 90’s if Dallas lost my whole week was shot.. I couldn’t sleep a the night of loss. I would avoid all sports related entertainment. Radio, TV and print. Now I’m older and wiser. I look at it a Pure Entertainment. I’m less emotionally invested in it. Sort of like WWE wresting. Story lines, ups and downs twist and turns. The minute I’m not entertained I won’t switch fandom to another team. I’ll just stop looking at the accident as I drive bye . .. til then I’ll take my son to Dallas once a year to see a game. He’s 25 and a Dallas fan. Has never seen his favorite team win anything. But as long as we can bond. Have a beer and be entertained. I’ll be there once a year.
Great!
Your relationship with your son is so much more important than this.
Glad you guys can enjoy it together.

And that’s what you’re not getting. Of course he was passionate about the team at one time. And you’re not getting what he means by “ my team”. Which means not the team he roots for but feeling like he belongs or attachment emotionally .

It’s like having a problem child. You’ll always care about them but at some point you have to detach your emotions until they can make better decisions.

And you don’t have to be a Cowboys fan to discuss Cowboys Football.

You know, the Cowboys aren't his life.
If we're going to be honest: the Stadium is his life.
He personally negotiates high profile fights and events and the overall place in and of itself all the way to the curtains over paying personal attention to GM duties, other than being the final arbiter, and negotiating critical deals from the get-go? He leaves that to Son.

The Cowboys are the means to his ends, but he knows he has many means to his ends and spreads his attention to the point that he's nothing more than a figurehead with final power.

Problem is , is that there are enough causal fans to fill the star.
As long as that happens he’ll have no incentive to change.

The only one who isn’t getting it is you. You’re speaking for him as if you’re inside his head. Lol

I would just think he would be more concerned with his legacy.
And what he does as owner of the Cowboys defines that.
