I don't understand why some are down on our moves so far. We loss Cooper, who disappeared in games. Gregory whose highest sack total for a season was six. We knew before seasons end that we needed a LG in the draft. So that just leaves Collins' and Wilson's departure as the only real losses to me. If we draft a RT, LG, and WR with our first three picks, then we could be right back in the thick of things.
All the WR disappeared down the stretch not just Cooper.

would have liked to have kept Gregory but some of yall act like he was the second coming of LT. Dude was just ok and not much of an upgrade over DA. He had a couple of good games

I get a sense that the posters here are hoping that the roster will be as good as it was last season. That sure seems to be Cowboy management's goal also. Well, for me that is not enough because last year's team was not good enough. Roster upgrades and improvements should be the objective; not steps sideways or slight steps backward. Major possible FA moves are mostly gone now. Upgrading through trades still remains. Otherwise this week's draft had best be a major "home run" to improve over last year's bunch.

Agreed.
Hope we draft one as well.
Have a kicker battle royal in camp
best one wins!!!
Lol
I'm hoping York is taken with one of those 5ths.

I have a feeling he will go in the 4th round though.

McPhersons postseason probably boosted Yorks value. A guy like that can make all the difference, and they are asked to do a lot under much pressure, yet the position is treated like a complete afterthought.

I like a kicker with one of our extra 5ths if one is available
That is worthy

I'm ready for the next Folk/Bailey.

The idea of a stud kicker in the 5th round as opposed to taking a flier on some DB who probably won't see the field for three years, if ever.....is a no brainer to me, but teams don't treat it that way.

If healthy Hooker is one of the better safeties we've had lately. Schultz had 78 catches for 808 yards. If they hadn't tagged him he might have cost more.

The lack of high-level external moves has left Cowboys fans frustrated. When Dallas lost out on the chance to re-sign Randy Gregory, it left the front office with savings to spend on names like Von Miller, Bobby Wagner, and other players. Yet, the staff chose to remain in-house, shelling out several frugal or one-year contracts to players who bring depth more than starting talent.

It’s a tale as old as time for the Joneses. The hope is that these deals end up working out in the Cowboys’ favor. But, recent history paints a different story. For now, let’s take a look at all of those in-house signees and give them grades. Keep in mind that this list only includes players who were free agents heading into the 2022 season.

10. Jayron Kearse, S
Grade: A
Contract: Two-year extension worth $10 million

Jayron Kearse is a perfect example of what every player attempts to do when they sign a one-year, prove-it deal. When Kearse originally signed with the Cowboys ahead of 2021, there was little-to-no buzz about him. He was a typical Jerry Jones bargain bin signing. However, after five years in the NFL, Kearse had his best year yet in Dallas. He started in 15 games and had two interceptions, nine tackles for loss, six QB hits, and 101 tackles.

For the rest of the grades see the following link:

Are they grading on the player or the price? Because all of these prices were an A in my book. Other then say Shultz. But the use of the tag on a one year play was an A.

Did I miss Gallup in that list? This was by far a B+. The price we got Gallup was amazing. Only issue is the knee. Now if he missed 2 or 3 games and returns to form for the next 4 years this is an A+.

Then they dont even list Gregory, which was probably a D. Gregory willing to take less to stay here and blowing it.

Signing Wagner or Miller to those huge long deals would have been a mistake.

If you dont care who they sign and for what price then you obviously dont care about the salary cap or team management. Blindly signing over priced older players rarely works out like you hope.

With games being so tight these days, Your FG kicker is a very important member of your roster.
