Did you expect it to change when the owner uses the word "comfortable" as a reason for keeping Garrett for 10 years?

Any HC of the Cowboys will have to meet that "comfortable" stage where the owner plays the role of the HC just short of putting himself out their for criticism.

Garrett mentioned that he and McC were friends because he told Booger he would like him. I am sure he coached McC just what to say to get that job in 12 hours.

What I never got were the posters mentioning guys like Meyer and Riley as candidates and now it's Payton. In the small network of HC's in the NFL, think the respect level for McC is very high? However, they know he needed the job because the NYG were his only other possibility. A man does what he has to do. And he is getting paid very well for being a eunuch.

However, I wonder if McC spends a lot of time regretting how he pitched himself for the job and how he ended last season throwing his OC under the bus? I am sure what he agreed to in that interview seemed a lot easier than he anticipated and he didn't foresee his boss having an open dinner with Payton to rub salt in the wound. Booger is such a despicable and petty man.
Yea, I sense MM didn’t totally grasp what he was getting into. Not sure anyone can. It’s a crap show of enormous proportion. It has to be all about the paycheck . And why I kinda feel for him now. MM grin in between those fools says it all. Wow.

And why I sense he said what he did after playoff game trying to position himself for the next job hoping this one isn’t the end of his career.

And while I do not like him doing that, I may underestimate what the other GM's and owner think about Booger. When he said that, a lot of them might have been nodding and thinking 'we know, we know'.

If that clown shoots his mouth off this much to the media and has been fined twice by the league office for doing that, imagine what he says around these people without mics around. Think being the egotistical narcissist he is he could resist reminding them that when it comes to ratings and revenue, his team is the dog and they are the tail?

I thought it was funny when Jerry said that Taco was Stephen's pick but Micah was Jerry's pick.

Better than generic Garrett type press conference repeating "Football" "National Football League" "110%" etc...

Jerry continues to believe quantity wins of quality. Yes he go Fowler and Armstrong for the price of Gregory, but the question is, is the team better? And the reality is, he could have gotten Gregory and still signed Armstrong.

We' will find out over the course of the 2022 season if Jerry made the right choice.

Jerry was questioned by the media. Had he not answered honestly, some would be complaining he is a coward unwilling to answer hard questions from the media.

Better to be labelled a coward than a fool. He has no obligation to the opinions of the media and every obligation to set the culture of the Cowboys in the right way.

IMO part of the right way is to not talk about your laundry. Keep your piehole shut!

My grandmother taught me this, and I think Jerry could use a bit of my grandmother's advice.

exactly the point I just made in another thread. There are many in here that will crucify him no matter what he says.

It was just like the "Joker," in Full Metal Jacket when being questioned by the drill instructor about the Virgin Mary. Joker said I feel that I will be wrong with any answer I give.... welcome to Jerry World.

when you play by your own rules you can handle things the way you chose.

When you live in a normal world like most of us, you play by societies rules. Would be great to play by YOUR rules like Jerry gets to.

Gregory should be thanking Jerry for giving him chance after chance to prove himself. Taco should do the same. Any legitimate FO would've moved him much sooner.

As a Cowboys fan, I'm more annoyed that the fools who drafted them will be drafting again this Thursday.

:lmao:

Can't argue this.
Not sure why, but just don't seem too excited yet about this draft. Maybe once it starts I will be.

I just can't get it out of my head, they will take a high risk pick in the 2nd round.
Reach for a player in the 3rd round.

Make some dumb trade in the 4th or 5th round, giving up more than they should. Then claim the player was ranked a 2nd round pick and they got value. Because the player was not used right in the NCAA.

It happens every single year.

Taco is a bust and Gregory hasn't proven he isn't one so both should just shut up. Also, Jerruh and Stephen need to shut up as well.

Right, every single one of them should read the room, and shut the hell up.

If I was the Devil I would offer Jerry another deal. One I think he would struggle greatly with.

Jerry old boy, I'll give you another SB won your way IF you never speak into another microphone again.
Jerry clearly already made this deal 26 years ago. The microphone was his choice.

It is like they are trying to run off the fans.

How does touting how crappy you are at drafting - forgetting they apologized for drafting Micah instead of leaping for a CB- blaming it on players, etc, then saying I'd rather have 2 shante carvers and over the hill marcellus wiley over 1 Demarcus Lawrence, drive interest that this is a sound org?

Honestly, the Taco comment was the funniest thing I’ve heard come out of Jerry’s mouth, and taken as the joke it was, it was also a kind of admission of all the false “credit-taking” that happens around the draft. And I liked Taco’s response too, also in the spirit of fun.

I liked and respected Charlton's response far better than Gregory's.

What's hilarious is, Taco response with wiping his tears with money. So Taco made like 8-10 million thus far, likely spent most of it. He's now a bottom roster feeder / practice squad player. How long until he runs out of $$$? Two years? Three years?

I hate Jerry. But Jerry wipes his butt with Taco's earnings. That's what he probably spends on a day lol
