So they learned this great lesson with Brandon Carr, but not with Claiborne?

There's no truth to this other than the them being intrigued by a possible cheap price to deal up as opposed to other years.

And of course to keep us "relative and interesting."

They aren't trading up from 24. Promise.
I don’t see why you are so confident. I have read 3-4 articles from different sources saying Jerry wants to trade up. It all depends on the player he wants still being there. I hope that the player is gone because there are too many holes on this team for Jerry to trade away extra picks for one player.

You don't think Jerry calling and asking if they want to trade the pick would have tipped them off?
Understand what you are saying, but teams do these types of trades based on how it is playing out. If player X falls and the Cowboys want him they can target a team to trade with as opposed to let it be know that they want one particular player.

It's Drake London. Per Broaddus yesterday, they love him. However, I don't think he gets by Washington at 11 ... now if Hamilton falls, they likely move up for London.

-Kayvon wont fall to 14
-The elite OT's will be gone
No way kayvon falls out of top 7 imo. I’d be happy with Hamilton big time.

When the story so far has been many teams are willing to trade out of the 1st why would they be "desperate" to trade up?

After they lucked out with Parsons last year they probably think lightning will strike twice.

The draft value chart is not an exact science. In fact, many teams don't use the draft value chart. In a year like this year where there are not a ton of elite players the cost to move up is probably not as high as in past years. That being said, I would rather just sit where we are and take the pick that falls to us. We have too many needs to part with draft picks since the two bozos did very little in free agency.
Teams may say they don't use the chart, and yet virtually every trade follows it very closely once you get outside the first 5 picks of the draft or so. I'll believe it's cheap to move up this year when the trades start happening.
