I think Garrett was far from a puppet. He was just a bad coach. He did help the Cowboys improve the offensive line and brought in quality people to play football for the most part. Romo and Dak were both products of Garrett.

Romo and Dak were blind luck. Romo was parcels.

Garrett’s first oline revamp was a disaster.

He will for sure finish his contract so he's got 3 years left at least. We will see what happens.

Well this is a wild comparison, but jerry is similar to hitler as a leader.
They both had early success, that went to their head, and made them think they were infallible, and then hitler got rid of his generals, that
he didnt get along with, and jerry got rid of Jimmy, let norv and dave go off elsewhere, and kept only campo lol.
Then they both took total control and even though things didnt go well , and got worse and worse, they both would not
relinquish that control. Hitler did it until he died, so I guess jerry is the same there too.

They both are/were narcissistic, like total control, dont like being asked hard questions , or anyone who disagrees with them.
They both are/were delusional, even to things that are obvious, and think at some point they will succeed in their quest.
They both wield total power and cant be removed. They both keep loyal lapdogs around , while getting rid of the smarter people.
They both got worse with age.

Jerry’s GM record’s not good, but comparing him to Adolph Hitler?!? Seriously?!? C’mon, Dandy!

Those little things dont matter on teams with no qb. Its having the HOF QB that allows teams to be in positions where the little things win games, or lose games. How is this so? Because the HOF qb is has his team in position to win.

Last year we went to the Cowboys Saints game in New Orleans. We were in control and then we had a bad interception in the 4th quarter that gave the Saints life. A fan near us was just waiting for a reason to talk smack to my daughter, who admittedly had been talking smack the entire game. On the pick he turned around and said something, to which my daughter jumped and yelled... oh, thats right, Drew Brees retired, you aint coming back, this game is over.

That is it in a nutshell. He knew she was right, and guess what... she was right. Had Brees been playing, I might have been like, oh crap, we are in trouble. But they didnt have brees, so the game was over.

The little things matter when your QB can take those little things and turn it into wins. Last year against the Niners, we got the ball back in the 4th quarter with a chance to win 2 times in the final 6 minutes. Had Dak led the team down the field and we won, wed be talking about all those little things mattering. But we dont have Drew Brees, we have Dak.. so the little things... yea, who cares.

I think it is foolish to expect your QB to win every game by himself.

The little things do matter among the other teammates, and I guess I could have listed all the things that happened against SF that killed our team's momentum, but I thought I would offer you this link at the end to save us both some time.

I can't change your mind, but I can tell you from all the years of coaching that I have done, and the time I have spent playing sports that little things do matter among the entire team, culture matters and how players hold themselves accountable matters.

I coached 20 years of club ball. 6 seasons at 2 different HS at Varsity level. Won 5 league titles and 1 second place finish. I have coached against and had players that have played for me that won NCAA D1 national titles and played on team USA. Ive beaten a few and lost to a few. Ive had at least 75 D1 and D2 players play under me. And yes, all those little details matter... do not try and twist my words. BUT, there is no other sport (hoops is only one close) that 1 player has such an impact. The QB doesnt snap it to himself and throw it to himself, but like I said, its a FACT that the teams in the NFL that have that top 6 QB have by far the greatest chance at winning the big game for the reasons I have already stated.

I have never said, ever, that the qb wins games by himself. BUt the reason the chiefs are in the running for a SB every year now is simple. Patrick Mahomes does Patrick Mahomes things. Dak Prescott Does Dak Prescott things.

IMHO, luck is one of the many of the variables associated with success. Talent, execution, coaching, scheme, culture, heart, weather, injuries, officiating, luck…

You give Paxton Lynch 3 All-Pro linemen and the best RB in the NFL and things might have been different for him.

With how many teams (5), in how many leagues (3), does Lynch have to fail before this fantasy dies? He couldn't even hold a back up job in the NFL.

Maybe if the XFL gets off the ground next year he can flop in a fourth league?

so is he now the best puppet you could ever hope for or is that still Garrett?

I agree he is screwed with these two fools but he has much more say then the hapless Garrett.
It might still be too early to say but until we have more data to measure I’d still say at least at this point Garrett was more of a perfect puppet for our dysfunctional organization. The rest including McCarthy so far seem far too uncomfortable in this toxic atmosphere.

My take away from yesterdays news conference is him sandwiched in between our dysfunctional ownership . He actually looked smaller if that’s possible .

I had been somewhat targeting him since his arrival but I feel sorry for him now. I know many fans had hope he was going to be our savior but he has no chance over coming these fools . He’s become just another puppet. And probably always was since he stayed over at Jethro’s .

I can’t see him surviving another season barring something we haven’t seen this era which isn’t likely. And for his sake he deserves something better.

I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt that he didn’t totally grasp the crap show he was getting himself into. What a Shonda our Cowboys have become .
Yep, Jerry and SJ expose coaches.

LOL...........only YOU need more data. Everyone else knows that Garrett is a joke and MM makes Garrett look like the chump he is.

Imagining what MM was thinking during this "abortion" of a presser yesterday. Its the only adjective I can think of after enduring 5 minutes of it.

Are you THAT naive to think that 4th round talent, weak arm, embarrassed by David Carr on national TV in a accuracy contest, can't read a defense Dak Prescott is the only young QB that could have succeed with that 2016 Cowboys offense?

Take the blinders off.

When you get right down to it, any coach alive deserves a better front office than this! o_O

Jerry's terrible, but Stephen's worse! I hope the "committee" locks him up during the draft.

You’ve never grasped my cynical spin in all of this.

Look how uncomfortable MM looks as a puppet. Much like how uncomfortable Bill looked . It was a natural position for Garrett being Jethro’s puppet .
