Whether at 24 or in a trade down, I think he fits both a need (LG) and has the long-term potential and upside to replace Tyron at LT in a couple of years. He has all the physical traits you want and a nasty attitude. However he is raw with technique. Which can be hidden at LG and with his brute strength for the first year. He will be a work in progress, but can start year 1 and the clay is there to mold. Thoughts?

Absolutely, not!!!

I stopped watching after the first 2 plays. Both of them were HOLDS by Tyler Smith because he is slow on his feet and he reaches around to the outside of opponents and grabs on to their shoulder pads. In the NFL, both plays will be flagged for holding.

The fact he holds so much and is slow on his feet means he would be terrible made to play Left Guard where you have to be mobile and capable of stopping bigger/stronger D-linemen from coming up the middle. No way Tyler Smith can do this.

I don't care what the video creator is saying or what he wishes to be true, that's not what one sees about Tyler Smith when watching this video. Cowboys would be dumb if the drafted this guy who needs tons of work, much less use a 1st round pick on this mess.

HARD PASS!

PS: Nothing personal @NorthwestDallas40

I think you might have the right idea, but wrong guy and scenario. I think they may be moving up for Penning or even Cross.

I do like Smith

Not a fan, but my fear is he is their guy. If you can’t dominate and you get all those penalties playing at that level of completion something is very wrong.

Charles Cross could be someone the Cowboys might be fairly inclined to move up for, if a LT is their desire. Perhaps a LG would be even more desirable. The workings of Jerry and Stephen's minds can be odd at times. Here's hoping the members of the war room committee steer them in the right direction.

Smith is a penalty machine with bad technique. No thanks in round 1.

He's big, strong and has a nastiness to his game, but he's got to learn technique and to settle down that mean streak. He doesn't have the body to play G. His biggest weakness has been handling speed guys off the edge. Bull rushers he handles with ease. He drew most his penalties trying to literally smash defenders or getting beat by quickness and grabbing. He'll take at least a season to learn, but if he puts it all together, he's gonna be something special. This young man is a monster both physically and mentally.

In the 2nd? Sure. Not in the 1st, dude is a penalty machine that is still leaning how to play the position.

Like Smith as a trade down target. My call is Kenyon Green will be a Cowboys if they stay at 24.

Everyone's all like, 'he has no technique, but he can learn'. But what is he has no technique, because he hasn't been able to learn?

its not like Tulsa is a D2 school.watching some of his play gives me a big pause. He definitely is not ready to play Tackle in the NFLhe could be an asset at guard but even there he will be a penalty machine.

I don't think Green is a first round grade on the Cowboys board. If like they say, they only have 14-16 first round grades, you can be sure Green isn't one of them. If they do draft Green, it's a result of a trade back. If they trade up, the only OL they'll take is Cross. Other than him it's not worth a trade up.

Other than Cross, I highly doubt Dallas goes OL on a trade up. A trade back, they'll probably go OL. I do not think they sit at 24 with such few first round grades.

good thoughts.i would love to trade down but i am not sure sure its feasible this year.i doubt the cowboys will trade out of RD 1 so they might have to trade to teams like KC.
