So I haven’t been mocking like I had in past but have been reading all y’all stuff and reading mocks. Many of you get better and better yearly so kudos. The Athletic did one with Sturm and Jon Manchota following a mock. These two were the ones Manchota took and it aligns with where I think we should head. I get Dean may be gone and actually is attractive at 24 or a move down… and DL is still a massive issue but if we go OL and a D playmaker I’m all good.

Dean’s size and medical concerns might make him drop to the 2nd..

If I'm a team at the top of round two, he's one of my primary targets if he's there. Dallas would be crazy not to select him if he were still there that late (he won't be).

If we land this, it’s an A+.

Dean was the brains behind the Georgia defense. High IQ as a mechanical engineer major.

Agree! This type of 1-2 feels right with me and feels like we get a great leader in 2.

i dont think he even ran a 40,i suspect his 40 will be slower than Devin Llyod.I still will take him at 56 though.

Meets the injury criteria of the Cowboys. I could see this happening.

No way Dean drops into round 2… someone will take him before pick 32

Probably right. Like I said I’m sure there are teams entertaining taking him where we are at 1. This was just the only mock I read that fell like this and to me it was one Id jump at despite our 2nd injury past

That would be a really nice start. I'd finish like this:

Round 3: Sam Williams
Round 4: Kalil Shakir
Round 5: Cade Otton
Round 5: John Ridgeway
Round 5: Velus Jones
Round 5: Cade York
Round 6: Markquese Bell

Manchota actually had Williams next too and them fell off with TE next

I'm concerned about how well Dean will hold up in the NFL.

I'm concerned about how well Dean will hold up in the NFL.

And the fact that he refused to run the 40.

Supposedly because he would be in high 4.6 low 4.7 range.

But what if it's due to an injury?

It is. Mosher listed his injuries yesterday and there were about 5 or 6 of them. His thought was how well will he hold up with bigger faster players that hit harder.

The reason was stated. He suffered a pec injury training for the combine. Which is not a significant injury to worry about.

He also started every one of Georgia’s last 25 games.

Where are the injury concerns coming from in this thread?

Pec injury is good reason not to run?

And when will pec injury heal?

And his 40 time was estimated to be high 4.6 to mid 4.7 range even without the pec injury.

At this point I wouldn't be surpirsed if Dean fell to the 2nd and is selected in the 40-50 range just due to his size / length.

He's a stud, but I think you have to protect him and he's a WILL only player. I'd love this draft and even consider moving up in the 2nd a few spots for him.
