lol if the shoe fits......
And the analogy was limited to leadership styles , personality traits, and things like surrounding himself with lackeys who dont question, but
just obey. Also refusing to change or accept failure.
In other words, similar to most corporate billionaires….

I had been somewhat targeting him since his arrival but I feel sorry for him now. I know many fans had hope he was going to be our savior but he has no chance over coming these fools . He’s become just another puppet. And probably always was since he stayed over at Jethro’s .

I can’t see him surviving another season barring something we haven’t seen this era which isn’t likely. And for his sake he deserves something better.

He deserves what he's got. No one else in the NFL wanted him, so he spent a year in his basement eating and (allegedly) studying analytics.

Truth is he's exactly what Jerry wanted. A coach with a SB on his resume but desperate for a job - easy sell to the masses, and easy to control.

Mike gets a nice paycheck, Jerry keeps playing fantasy football with his son, and when it doesn't produce anything Mike is Jerry's next scapegoat.

probably, but I dont know much about most billionaires.
I have been watching jerry for 3 decades, so I know more about how he operates.
The bad thing is he cant fail financially, the way it is all set up, he can only fail on the field, and he has done that for a long long time now.

Is this satire? No other team would hire him. He is currently making millions of dollars at a job that if he lost it, nobody else would hire him. He should play the powerball.

Good point. The question that needs answered is how Dak would have performed if he didn’t step into the perfect situation? It is entirely possible that he could be on his third team as a backup by now.

True, this league is as much about system and opportunity as it is talent. Look at Kurt Warner, dude was bagging groceries then Trent Green went down and the "greatest show on turf" was born.

My take away from yesterdays news conference is him sandwiched in between our dysfunctional ownership . He actually looked smaller if that’s possible .

I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt that he didn’t totally grasp the crap show he was getting himself into. What a Shonda our Cowboys have become .
McCarthy's input and coaching has been disappointing to say the least. Seems he has been lucky all his career , working with Hall of Fame QBs and top tier teams that have great GMs. He has been found out in dallas. Heck , Green Bay got better after he left.

It didn't hurt that GB opened up their pocketbook after he left. I agree with what you're saying though. I dont believe he gives us an edge.

Did they? How many Super Bowls have they won since he's left?

0. Exactly. AR and GB gets all the luv and a free pass, while MM gets the stink eye from the media and fans. Its a ridiculous double standard. Does anyone realize that AR last won a SB in 2011?! That is 11 years ago! Since we are talking double standards by the media..When was the last time Sean Payton won a ring? Thats right, 12 years ago! Yet somehow HE is allegedly a better fit here than MM? I'm scratching my head on this. He hasn't done shiet in 12 years. MM is much better than he gets credit 4. He actually did more with less in 2011.

It was Sean Payton that brought Romo to Parcells attention. It wasn’t blind luck. Parcells saw enough in Romo to invest 2-3 seasons on him after he came to Dallas.

In the post you responded to I said point blank that it was Payton.

However, finding a top 10 franchise type QB as an undrafted FA is as blind luck as it gets.

Romo was a miracle, as is Dak. Romo probably more so as he was undrafted.

If you make a deal with the devil, you know what you're getting yourself into. McCarthy had to know what he was getting into. I feel no pity for him. All he had to do was take a look at the history of the team since Jimmy left.

Yeah, but Dallas lost to SF, and McCarthy’s fat!

none but they got better when he left. Heck MM record with the cowboys is worse than jason garret's

I can give him a pass for his first year here. Installing a new coaching staff with no real training camp to speak of is sort of difficult and then losing Dak the way they did did not help. They also had a historically bad defense which is partially McCarthy's fault since he hired his buddy to be DC. Last year was problematic. The second half of last year showed one thing Garrett teams are not known for: A defense that performed when it mattered. Unfortunately, Moore went full Garrett in the back half of the season. I don't think McCarthy was allowed to step in on Moore though. That falls on Jerry.

People really ought to get used to the fact that it pretty much won't matter who the coach is here. Jerry will hamstring them all until Jerry is gone.

Big Mike is fired after this years team fails miserably and the next coach will be Kellen...Jerry and Steven will bluster on about hows he's the next Tom Landry/Jimmy Johnson wizard coach....
I am halfway on board with you. I (like you) think this is Big Mike's last year but I don't think it will be Kellen who replaces him. I also very seriously doubt Sean Peyton is coming... I do think Dan Quinn will get the call... I could be totally wrong but I think JJ is seeing Kellen isn't ready yet...

If Garrett was a puppet, Romo would have gotten his job back from Dak.
Garrett took a poll from the team then went to Jerry. Probably left out a couple of guys that voted for Romo. Got to remember, Garrett is the snake that bit Wade Phillips in the buttocks. He knows how to slither.

This is my belief and I'm sticking to it.

It's his golden parachute. He won't coach again after the Cowboys gig.

Those couple of guys votes would not have mattered to Jones. He was not immune to the Do-Not-Mess-With-Chemistry euphoria that swept over fans and media alike.

The infamous concession speech was made in November but the month of October had not ended before Jones had pushed all his chips in the center of the table. Jones had that same wide Cheshire Cat grin, that had not been seen since the Johnson days, plastered all over this face.

McCarthy lied to get here so I can't say I necessarily feel sorry for him
