I'd spring for a NordicTrack and throw in a weight scale, so he could go on a diet. Bada-bing, Bada-boom! :muttley:

Yeah he's been hurt a ton.

Comes down to if teams think that's a chronic thing or coincidence. Very high end talent.

If they can get a lower first as a return I can see why they may want to cut losses, as they are staring at some pretty good OTs given their draft position.

I'd rather not trade for another O-lineman that can't stay on the field. We have enough of those.

There are reasons why the Jets are wanting move on from a guy they recently viewed as cornerstone piece of their franchise a few years ago.

No way unless you can ascertain those specific reasons.

NFL teams don't dump talented assets for no reason at all. They may not be the most valid reasons, or they may be reasons your organization isn't as bothered or troubled by, but you have to find out the reasons.

From what I can see from posters input it may be safer to wait for his release.

If Jets are ready to part with him, then wait for an outright release.

Pick him up, and give him a chance to lose his weight back onto your team.

If he doesn't, no harm done other than having to buy XXXXL underwear and gear for the dude while he was on the team.

I would be chatting with his agent and asking the scouts to go back to the drawing board to get a file folder of intelligence built on this young kid again. They should focus not on his on-field talent, but doing some heavy digging into the mental aspect of this kid in terms of toughness and resiliency.

True, and definitely a factor.

I don't think we are in on this guy, and I dont think they are going to fire sale him.

If your a first round pick with a fat contract and might cash in mightily second contract after rookie deal and you can’t be “ motivated “ I’m not real interested in Becton

My answer is....definitely, but depends on price.

Can't trade 24 for him, nor future firsts.

I doubt pick 58 gets it done, but I do that in a second...provided he can play guard for now.

Not a chance I'd give up anything like that for Becton. His weight went over 400 pounds last season, showed up to camp out of shape.

He got hurt week one, was expected to miss 4-8 weeks, and ended up missing the entire season.

So what does he do in 2022? He skips voluntary workouts. No wonder they want to get rid of him.

Figured there was more to this than I knew.

That said, I still doubt they fire sale him.

We already have Smith who we know will be out some games, don’t need 2.
