Not only that, his film is lackluster. I think people saw he was a top 5 prospect all year and just won't let it go. He doesn't play fast or have that alpha mentality but hey, experts say he's top 5 so he's top 5

LOL now he doesn't have an alpha mentality? What does that even mean? You saying he's soft?

I take the Center. Biadasz is still a very valuable backup center on a 4th round contract.
I see no way we take a safety unless later for special teams. We invested money in bringing back 2 safeties we like and have two youngsters as well.

Not interested in a 4.6 safety.

So you wouldn't want Justin Simmons or Jordan Poyer or Adrian Amos, three of the best safties in the NFL who also ran in the 4.5 to 4.6 range?

This kind of analysis seems to mimic the whole, "How dumb would it be to take a CB at 4 who didn't have any interceptions in college" logic some here used to claim Jalen Ramsey would be a bad pick.

Hamilton. OC is bigger need but Hamilton is about 10/15 slots higher on most boards out there and is the better player.
However, how high draft media guys have a guy on their boards doesn’t mean that’s accurate. If a guy drops from top 5 to #24 without health concerns, I wouldn’t assume I’m getting a steal. It happens, but more often a guy drops because the actual league doesn’t value him.

That said, Hamilton will be long gone. Haha

I see him as a box safety. That’s not worth a first rounder and we already have Kearse in that role. He would be a luxury pick given the holes elsewhere

1. KYLE HAMILTON, Notre Dame (6-4, 217, 4.67, 1): Jumbo-sized safety, easily the biggest in the draft. “I probably would have said he was the No. 1 player in the draft before he ran,” said one scout. “I still think he’s a unique player. He doesn’t play that (slow 40 time) on film. You (could) argue he plays like a 4.5. Part of it is he’s always a step ahead.” Ran slow at the combine and even slower in South Bend. “That guy played a lot faster than that,” said a second scout. “The two interceptions I saw in the Florida State game were incredible. The range he had on the back end. He’s physical.” Third-year junior, two-year starter. “He runs 4.7,” said another scout. “What do you do? He’s 4.7. He’s a good ballhawk. Good tough kid. But he’s no linebacker. If there’s a bust it might be him.” Finished with 139 tackles (7 1/2 for loss), eight picks, no sacks and no forced fumbles. “It doesn’t matter what he runs — he’s got game speed,” a third scout said. “He made an interception against Florida State that three people in America can make. The ability to swoop down and cover somebody or run down the seam or range to the middle of the field, he’s got all that. People said Sean Taylor. He’s not as physically explosive as Sean Taylor but I thought he was a better tackler. He’s not as physical as Kam Chancellor but he’s a better athlete. This guy’s a better athlete than Steve Atwater. Those were all intimidating forces. He’s not that.” Wonderlic of 28. His arm length (33) tied for the best at the position. “I don’t think he can play in the middle of the field,” a fourth scout said. “I question his ability to tackle from there. He’s more of that Buffalo nickel-dime linebacker in the box … When you talk to this kid you love him. He has what you want from a mental standpoint. He’s the type of kid you would want to build a defense around because he’s got great character. There’s not much bust in him. His floor is very high but I don’t know how high his ceiling’s going to be.” From Atlanta.

That's one scouts opinion. Who knows, the scout may even be you?!?!

Anyway, above and below that comment is a lot of praise. I think his highlight films look good and it's relatively long compared to others. Not the end all barometer for a players skill, but it's a data point.

Only thing that maybe could be said is that he almost lucked into some interceptions. Although, there's something to be said about someone who is always around the ball.

i love both players.
i'd go with kyle hamilton and fix the s spot for the next decade.
linderbaum is incredibly tempting.
hard to see how our team doesn't improve getting either one.

Some people have Sam Jurgens being the center we take in round 1.

I can see that happening, if the Cowboys have him that high on their board.

We can agree to disagree. That's not illegal bruh. I think dude is overhyped averageness

Sure but it’s still funny in a post that has multiple comments about how good he is, you just bring up the one that says he “might” be a bust. LOL.
