Absolute F!

He's holding in every play (8 plays) before the video creator goes into showcasing his YouTube Channel. Holding, tugging and dragging down in every one of those first 8 plays. Those will be called holding in the NFL.

No way this player should have been taken in the 1st round. This front office full of clowns passed up on a bonafied top 10 talent at DE Jermaine Johnson which we sorely need to fill due to Randy Gregory leaving.

i give it a C+!

i wold give it a higher grade but i do not trust philbin and this coaching staff with some one so raw! and this first year will be very importent for his development!

I can't give it anything over a D because of the same reason(s) you said here.
I'm not a Philbin fan boy and am concerned that Smith can not even be coached up enough to be better than the departed Williams or McGovern.

Fingers crossed on "potential" I guess.

If what Jerry is saying is true...he should just stop embarrassing himself for grading him at 16..... says more about their lack of intelligence than their draft shrewdness. The guy just can't keep his mouth shut even when he says stupid things.
I can see why they had him that high. His ceiling is up in the stratosphere. Not saying I agree and there's no doubt this is a boom or bust pick but the kid has raw skills that you don't normally see. He could be special. Lots of work to get there though.

Jermaine Johnson the first, I presume….

Uncanny lack of awareness coupled with loving the sound of his own voice.

Linderbaum will be in the Pro Bowl next year....dead lock guarantee.

He reminds me of a much bigger Stepnoski....relies more on his positioning and technique handling his opponent using their weight against them rather than try to overpower them, which you usually can't in the NFL His wrestling background is very useful. He would have easily beat out what we have now at C.

I chose C

The kid has all the physical tools. He could wind up being a very good player.

my issue is with the process. The cowboys were clearly hell bent on taking him. Just like they were with T Hill and LVE and Taco.

They drafted for need. Not BPA which is what frustrates me.
BPA is an opinion not a fact. There are always a lot of ifs involved in the off season. If Steele continues to get better and Badiasz steps up his game. Then this pick will not be as horrible as some think. We still have eight picks to go. I expect us to use three more on the offensive side of the ball. That means five new defensive players. Plus undrafted free agents. So we can still improve our defense even after solidifying our offensive line.

Smith, Smith, Badiasz, Martin and Steele with McGovern, Ball and Forniok in the wings. That's a young group, so I expect us to bring in a veteran after the draft.

Kiper had the Cowboys taking him in his final mock. He also had him at the #33 "top prospect".

McShay had the Cowboys trading with the Texas to move up to #13 to pick an OT and had the Texans taking Smith @ #24 too.

Reid had him going at #39

Miller had him going at #19 to the Saints.

These are all of the top ESPN mock draft guys so most pundits shouldnt be too critical of this pick for what its worth...

Cowboys writer Nick Eatman had Smith as their 1st round pick today.
"I think the other writers might be right with Kenyon Green, but I went with Smith, who could be there in a trade-back scenario. He's played tackle but has the size to play guard now and eventually slide outside down the road. This is a pick for the short-term at guard and hopefully the long-term at tackle."
