Because our O-Line didnt have enough problems with penalties lmao. This guy is a flag waiting too happen. If you think Connor Williams was bad watch this guy.

A project player from a small school with discipline problems, terrible technique and penalty issues.

The only thing that speaks for the pick is our resume with first round o-liners.

But i dont feel it here.

C-

Dallas could've drafted a consensus top 10 player who could've contributed right away. Instead, they took one of the biggest question marks of the draft who's going to need some time and work, even if they do move him to LG.

I think he will do well with Tyron next to him. If Tyron misses games early it might get real sloppy. I think we should've taken the center. Apparently we have no balls at all in FA, but come draft time anything goes.

I think he is a true boom or bust prospect. Raw potential, hope the coaching staff can clean up penalty issues.

Centers usually aren't valued as high but thought Linderbaum had as high of a ceiling and lower downside risk for their respected positions.

Linderbaum was never an option in a Division that has big nasty DT/DE you face twice a year.

Linderbaum is undersized light weighted. Can u imagine him against Jordan Davis twice a year?

F

He is a project. You need to pick a starter in the 1st round. He isn't starter material.

Stephen tried to sell us that we didn't have holes. Well, we do. That's what happens when you have no clue on how to assemble and NFL team.

I chose C

The kid has all the physical tools. He could wind up being a very good player.

my issue is with the process. The cowboys were clearly hell bent on taking him. Just like they were with T Hill and LVE and Taco.

They drafted for need. Not BPA which is what frustrates me.

And they try to sell us that they had all the pieces in places from FA. They didn't

Terrible off season. Terrible pick.

Tyler Smith's pass protection was described by one writer at BTB as a "work in progress." In other words, there's work to be done before it's sufficient. In that event, there's no telling how long it might be before his pass protection is satisfactory. Perhaps a veteran backup with some experience will be needed in the meantime, before Tyler is prepared to start.

Right now I'm giving this a B or B-. I'm happy we addressed the trenches. I've been dating that for months. So that was relief. My 2nd thought was: Who? And Why?

But as I've thought about it, this reminds me of the Travis Frederick pick. There was a safety sitting there and we traded down and let the safety go and then drafted Frederick. I was livid and threw something at the TV. I was done and then Frederick became a great player and an anchor for the line for several years.

I'm optimistic this will be the same outcome. Lol, and I'm not one that is optimistic about anything Jerry does. But I'm feeling a Frederick vibe here where initial reaction is what are they doing to 3 years later a pro bowler.

Oh and I'm also happy he's very young and if it pans out he'll be here a while, Ala Tyron Smith.

Everyone of these guys are projects. You won't really know what you have until they come together in pads. College, the Combine, and individual workouts; are all forgotten, when the pads come on.

Some projected superstars become afterthoughts, while some afterthoughts become superstars. Giving him a "C" until he either fades or flourishes.

This past year, has really been a head scratcher, with management. Let's see how they finish.

Grade Dallas 1st Round selection of Tyler Smith.

I'm giving them a C.

He has potential to be a great Guard, but definitely needs some work on penalties..

I also would have preferred Dallas to go with DE Jermaine Johnson there. He appears to be much better value than Smith.

But Oline definitely needs to be revamped.
"Need some work on penalties" scares me. Connor Williams 2.0?

I give them a C-. You don't take a project in the first round. Zion Johnson was sitting there, an OG who is a plug & play tomorrow guy. There were no first round tackles left.
