thanks for posting. I guess the sky isnt falling after all. I would have liked linderbaum over this guy but i get the sentiment that Biadiss is a better center than mcgovern is a guard plus he can flex. Lets see how they follow things up here in round 2 and 3

Below average pick for 2022, good pick for 2023 and beyond hopefully.
Exactly! I guess what really pissed me off with the selection and I do realize what they Jones were thinking but to have the DE Johnson fall into there laps and to pass on him blows my mind. Our top DE is turning 30, and like Tyron Smith; he has missed a lot of games. DE ‘s and OT’s get picked early in the draft because of their value. Johnson is by far the most finished product.

I'm guessing the thinking is if you're gonna burn a 1st on a center that plays only one position you better have a clear opening at the position for him to start, NOT upgrade.

Overall, JJohnson still being there was my biggest problem with the pick.

It truly reeked of them pre deciding the best OL was the pick no matter what, although several other teams passed on Johnson.

we felt that Linderbaum would garner a large second contract and I worried about that. we don't think Smith is going to be that good to garner a second large contract, so he has more value (monetary)
Linderbaum is built like a TE :lmao:

LOL........EXACTLY? There is no such thing as a below average pick for 2022 and good pick for 2023?

Its either a good pick or its not. Its a good pick, just needs a little seasoning and then could be a home run.

If Johnson becomes TJ Watt squared, then Jerry blew it again. We will have to wait and see.

I'm going to assume there were some concerns about Johnson. Won't be surprised if he was off their board. Of course, if they had Smith at 16, he could have simply been rated higher than Johnson on their board.

Supposedly they had character corners with Johnson. But that didn’t stop them from hanging on to Gregory. A head scratcher to me…

Or picking Williams. We seem to worry about character more when it's convenient to use it as an excuse.

Did you read the article that was posted on Sam?

Not yet. Doesn't mean there weren't character concerns, though, just like with Johnson. However, we seemed to be zoned in on Williams, so at least we probably vetted him well. Not sure our staff spent any time on Johnson.

Very good stuff there. Bobby does a great job and is plugged in with Jane Slater.

If you watch the tape you see the why of the pick. He absolutely just crushed dudes.
It is pancake city.
But his LT awareness was pretty awful and he can't reach the slot blitz types or stunting LBs.
He needs to play inside for now next to a vet like Tyron Smith.

But he isn't going to have to hold the way Connor did to keep from getting beat by strength.
He may well blow some blocks on stunts early but he'll really open running lanes too.

I don’t know who Bobby Belt is, but Suzy Slippers is sceptical.
