If I’m Eagles I’m trading for Mayfield or Garrapolo. Both better than Hurts

He’s pretty good at playing football

This reminds me of when they got Alshon. Big name, was pretty decent for them, but didn’t really cause much damage. At the end of the day, you need a quarterback who can get the ball to his receivers. Hurts is as mediocre as you can get.

Eagles are counting on A quarterback in next year‘s draft, but I like our chances with Howie‘s quarterback draft history!

yeah not worried with Squirts at QB, far more concerning is Jordan Davis next to fletcher Cox
I don’t think Fletcher Cox is on that team anymore.

Also, Davis played on the same line as the first overall pick and another first rounder. He’s no Aaron Donald or even Fletcher Cox.

At least Fletcher seems to be going downhill. Hargrave's still a handful, though. Hope our guard addition turns out to be a good one because we're going to need it, as well as Biadasz continuing to improve.

Garrapolo is better, not sure about Mayfield. Neither are worth the cost at this point. I think the plan is to put as much talent around Hurts as they can so they can truly evaluate him. If he plays well they could extend him during the season. If not they’ll use their two 1sts to grab a QB next year which is considered to be a much better QB class.
The danger is if Hurts plays well enough to earn an extension but not well enough to be considered a franchise QB. At that point you get stuck deciding between overpaying or starting over at QB.

Personally I think Hurts is too limited physically to be anything more than a mid level starter / high end back-up. This year with all the weapons will prove that.

Honestly Cleveland has zero leverage right now. Mayfield won’t be there so they will eventually have to cut him. That’s what teams are waiting on. That’s why no one has made a trade for him.

Damn bro got thousands of posts in a Cowboys message board. Infatuation/hate also makes you a fan whether people admit it or not
I can’t call it man…..only reason he doesn’t have more posts is because Cowboys been whooping their *** the past few years lol….but I’ll give him credit…he at least doesn’t hide his allegiance. Some of them pretend to be Cowboys fans.

Yikes what a trade for them. Smith on one side and Brown on the other. They still need a better qb.

Its a waste. And paying him 25 million per year and giving up a first to do that is laughable. All these big WR trades the new teams are going to regret.

Hill will not be the same with Tua throwing to him and as you said, Philly still has Hurts.

What New England has done doesn’t work for everyone. It’s not going work for them anymore without Tom Brady. Ryan Tannehill is a mid tier QB who just lost one of his top weapons. No guarantees the receiver they drafted pans out. They moved on from a proven player to an unproven one. As for the Cowboys they traded away Amari Cooper for practically nothing. That certainly didn’t make them a better team.
You are 100% right. Belichick is a great coach but he's spotty not great as a gm. Brady covered up a whooooooole lot.

WRs are cap eaters. I am sure Brown will be productive, but I don't see the offensive identity of the Eagles as a passing team with Hurts at QB. That could well turn out to be a wasted asset.

The Packers, with the premier passing game, didn't even want to pay a top 3 producer in the league at the position I hope the Cowboys stay young at the position and resist paying $25M/Yr. to a ball catcher.

They resigned him on a 1 year deal.

Howie drafted Nick Foles in the 3rd round of the 2012 draft and look at how that turned out. At least they won a SB since the salary cap came into being. We draft better QBs, and where did it get us?

Not a good way to improve your team.

I don't think every team is on board with paying WRs 25M a year. Because they could have paid him, he still has one year left on his rookie deal. The cap hit for 2022 is very small. I think they traded him now so they could get the 1st rounder.
