Why didn't they just keep Collins and draft Linderbaum

Taking the vitriol out of your assessment you may also wish to consider that both missed games due to terminal stupidity last year. Collins because of the stupid bribe attempt to dodge testing and Cooper because the stupid refusal to get a vaccine that 3 billion people have already tested out for him. The front office felt like these guys were making too much money to be missing games over being stupid. I can't say I disagree.

Bull they were dismissed over the Jones's feelings

Well, there is a guy listed as #1 on the depth chart. But, I'm not so sure he is a starting caliber NFL Center based on what I've seen TBH
Have you compared him to most teams staring center? Where would you put him?

The answer is obvious. Its hard to look smart picking a player whose already had great success, and Jerry craves looking smart in front of a live TV audience. He would rather people say " interesting pick" than "solid pick".

It should also be pointed out that those guys gave our line fits.. Especially Jerome Brown..

.... but at some point the " Great Wall of Dallas " began to give those very guys equal and more fits too. ...

just to add lucas is not gonna solve anything joe philbin is offense line coach that stinks, some one said and i agree that you don't have to have 5 great offensive line men but you have to have a coach that's gonna get them ready and even when philbin had a lot of talent there i ask you how many championships did they win 00000000000000000000000

Yeah eventually the Great Wall started to win its share but Nate is very outspoken about how tough it was for him to face Jerome Brown and big fat Gilbert Brown was the eventual answer to our running game for Green Bay once he acclimated to the pro game along with Reggie White of course. Games against those teams with those fronts were a lot of the ones where Emmitt went into half with 12 carries for 27 yards.. but would go to town in the second half as "the Wall" wore folks down. This team will never do that because if Zeke has a total like that in the first half he will be lucky to get 2 carries in the second half, regardless of the score.

I'm still befuddled by the Collins release. Linderbaum is the Fredrick replacement that we have been looking for.
Because Collins was a entitled jerk who one year showed up to camp so out of shape he injuries his back and missed substantial time. He wouldn’t follow the rules of his drug program. They got tired of his ****.
I personally couldn’t be happier. They you want to change the culture well you have to start somewhere.

Teams generally want move centers or bigger less mobile guys. No right or wrong, just different philosophies. Move centers typically have problems with bigger NT’s and T’s and bigger C’s don’t get to the second level.

Dallas favors bigger C’s so Linderbaum wasn’t a fit.

I think people forget how much players like Dermonte Dawson and Mark Stepnoski changed the position. Prior to those guys, C’s were mostly big and immobile. Having C’s reach 3 techniques or getting to the second level wasn’t a thing until these guys came along.

Collins is no longer dependable for a litany of reasons. I imagine they didn't move on from Smith as well so they wouldn't have to completely overhaul the OT position in 1 off-season.

Linderbaum is too small and light weighted in a division with nasty DT you face twice a year.

He cant deal with Jordan Davis or Jonathan Allen twice a year.
If Jason Kelce wanted to play here for a few years, would you turn him away? Jason Kelce is 6'3", and hovers at around 300. He has a very good chance to get into the HoF. I'm not saying that Linderbaum would be the next Kelce, but there is more to playing the game than sheer size.

we need the reincarnation of Travis Frederick and Kelce ain't him.
