Why are you guys so in love with BPA? The BPA at any point in the draft is just one man's opinion. Kiper and Todd's BPA differs quite often, so whose to say Dallas's BPA has to align with what others think. They had holes and they filled those holes. What more can you ask?

Brady was the BPA of the whole entire draft back in 2000. How many people knew that going in? So one BPA for Ying might not be the BPA for Yang. It's all just opinions and it's all just guess work.

So do like Aaron Rodgers say and relax. We don't know how things will turn out until years from now.

i loved the tyler smith pick.
i wanted treylon burks...once he was gone i was hopin they'd go jermaine johnson or one of the 2 ot's i liked...smith or raimann.
i think smith slides into the og spot and is a monster inside.
our run game got fixed when he got off that bus.

sam williams was a home run.
he gets after the qb...we need more of that.

jalen tolbert was one of my favorite players.
big receiver with good speed.

love those first 3 picks.

They have their grocery shopping list and they just get what's on the list regardless of BPA/value.
yes that it they did that to annoy you..Oz has it correct one person draft board with BPAs are a not all a like..so give it rest this was sold draft IMO just because the names aren't big splash names much like FA so far doesn't mean its bad..i give it a b+ 1-7 rounds..

Agreed, but they still got good players in the first 4 rounds.

Much better then grapping the best receiver on the board every year. We have already proven that you cant win doing that.

If these Cowboys were to go BPA in my opinion that would have been Jermain Johnson and Jones the DT from Uconn on the 2nd.

To me that would have been a home run and our defense becomes top 3 no question.

I think the BPA is overhyped as well.

I agree. Also a small trade up for Nakobe Dean in the 3rd.

As the draft goes on you have to start picking for need it’s really hard to evaluate who the BPA is once you get past the third round. The Cowboys have some needs at certain positions that have to be addressed.

They create their own holes, then try to fill them only thru the draft. It's not working.

This could be a good draft for the long term, but I’m trying to see if it improves us any from last year.

Our secondary and LBer corps are mostly the same. Getting Cox back could offset some of the losses. DE is mostly a wash. We lost Gregory, but we replaced him with Fowler and the rookie Williams with perhaps an increased role from Armstrong. You could even argue we’re worse at DE but I’m fine with calling it a wash.

Similar with WR, you could say we’ve offset losing Cooper with our FA signing and 3rd round rookie along with an increased role from CeeDee. You can even argue we’re worse, but I’m fine with calling it a wash. Then we’re perhaps the same with OL. We lost Connor but replaced him with Tyler. Although Tyler has a high ceiling, it’s no guarantee he’ll be an upgrade his rookie year.

Always amazing that all we GMs know what there board looks like or what we believe the board should look like. Always remember what McClay said in an interview several years ago. In the first round usually BPA regardless of position unless all players you have rated as 1st round guys are gone. 2nd round is if someone falls you have rated high or BPA of a position of need based on the talent level left in the draft. Third day is the same unless a player that is rated high but injured and might need a year to recover.

Might not agree with who they picked but they followed that process all the way through. The LB that we picked in 5th was rated going into the season as a late 1st early 2nd but out for 2022with surgery that our doctor says will be fine by end of season.

Is it what we wanted, no, but betting McClay loves it along with Quinn and OL coach. As to Johnson, don't understand as all 32 teams passed on him until Jets traded back into 1st. There is something we just don't know about him and Jets are one of only a couple of teams with enough draft capital that could take a chance.

How many thought Dean was going to fall that far? Doubt anyone on the board did. Just goes to show fans nor draft experts don't have the information that teams do.
