Not sure about that. Zeke and Pollard will be gone. Tyron will likely be gone and Martin will start showing signs of age. OL could be in need of a complete overhaul. WR might be solid but not extraordinary. TE might need to be addressed.

This year is looking like a disappointment to all of us but I think 2023 is going to be a big year if they stay the course.

A lot of promising guys were drafted this year with Smith, the ND tackle and the LSU LB. The cap looks to be in great shape next year and getting better with Zeke likely coming off the books.

And while it could be tougher on the field this year (10-7) it may mean a top 20 draft pick next year in what HAS to be a better class than this year.

Gallup hopefully will be fully healthy and we’ll know about CDs future as a #1.

I hope they keep McCarthy so we don’t change systems again and stunt development. He’s not Don Shula but I don’t think MM can be blamed for this teams problems in 2020 and probably in 2022. Between being destroyed by injury the first year and the front office cutting his legs out by giving away good players and not replacing them this year he’s only had 1 real year to have a chance. And no coach was going to win when the QB was night/day after a calf injury
Mac dis not get to install his system
It was Moore running Garrett's stale offense
Disappointed

Anyone that thinks that rookies will come in and replace vet production day 1 is crazy. But all those players should be good in 2023. Smith can be a pro bowl player with a year or 2 under his belt according to scouts around the league.

I love Williams athleticism. Tolbert is a good 3rd WR but if the OL is dominant again they’ll look better
Really only urgency right now is for Smith to play better than Williams and that can be taken care of during his first few snaps

2023?

Damn. I planned on going to a game in Nashville this year. I guess I can wait another 8 years.

In terms of being a true contender probably. Can they make the playoffs - sure. But hard to see how this team is better than last year unless we get the first half of Dak from last year for a full 17 games. Which he hasn’t done the first 6 years of his career

Oh he hired Mike Nolan and that was purely a buddy hire. It happens all over the NFL but your buddy better be qualified. 2020 was partly his doing though that year was nobodies fault.
Im not impressed but the ship has set sail. JJones is a poor judge of talent he displays it over and over. I really like JJones. He’s entertainment and I have made peace with the whole show.

I’ll never understand why fans feel the need to attach themselves to a potential outcome months before the season even BEGINS.

I’ll never forget 2014.
This place was in shambles after week 1.
I’m sure others remember. We were “literally the worst team in the league”. A “laughingstock”.

Let’s see how things play out. The only thing that’s for certain is that the NFL is an unpredictable league.

Ditch MM and bring Quinns hands on coaching style and motivation to the whole team.
You won't need to wait a year.

The most important position on the team has an established veteran at the qb position The offensive line is being addressed but we don’t know if it can run block yet. Two established running backs ready if the line opens holes. Can’t speak to the effectiveness of this new look WR corp

defense lost a sometimes effective head case at defensive end. This crew should continue to improve but there’s no way in hell they get as many turnovers as last year and that ok if they can replace that with stopping the run. The turnovers really masked a subpar defense. Quinn’s got a handle on this and I trust his process

special teams is still a question mark in terms of kicker. Punter is just fine. This season has to get some contributions from the punt return team

bottom line is they aren’t ready for prime time but they will compete and have a winning record. We will watch the games, share recipes and consume a lot of bourbon and bacon in the process……and yes, torture each other all season:D
