Draft Room Impressions

When the cameras went to the draft rooms of other teams, they all had a getting on with business feel. Full of coaches and scouts, laptops, player lists, office type furniture. I noticed the odd owner being present in some, but only on the periphery.

When the Cowboys draft room was shown, we see 3 generations of the Jones family - including children - sitting in expensive "video gamer" style chairs. No sense that it was a room where important business decisions are being made.

What impression does this give prospective players?

I think they were enjoying the draft shows. I don’t think the kids in the room were happy, looked a little bored.

not all business in that link LMAO..some fans here think the jones family are here to impress them and let me tell you they are not..if anyone believes family worth 15+ billion dollars don't know how to conduct business when it counts, you are truly cluelss, they didn't win lottery they worked for every dime they made and im sick and tired of this fanbase mocking them as if they dont have a clue on how to run this team.they have more then 100 employees on staff many on scouting and coaching areas year round feeding rhem with knowledge on players etc..did you not open that link behind the scenes of the draft..a lot of work goes into it, you are seeing the very end of it and enjoying family now is crime?

some of these fans must have never visited fortune 500 and above corporate board rooms and meeting rooms. Ever watch the show Billions gives you perspective on how billionaires conduct business, they aren't in dusty basement on lawn chairs being All Business..

ever see Google behind the scenes headquarters lol

And all that has nothing to do with Jerry being a horrible GM. He has major flaws in what he does which destroys any good he does for this team. He has no original ideas of his own in team building. He would have been fired from any GM job in the NFL.

Jerry is a CEO type trying to run a football program like a CEO would. Doesn't work.

Wether we like it or not its a family business. No one in the business world considers Jerry Jones anything but an astute business man.
But we can find fault

Always reminds me of the fable "The Emperor's New Clothes" with the added dimension of royalty chairs at the head of the table and disposable minions off to the side. Been this way for years n years.

Its all about brand building from a certain phenotype. Majority of entertainers do it, athletes do it, politicians do it. Its all about perception and facade.

Messrs. Jones know facade n perception...they live it every day.

#Respect for Messrs McClay n McCarthy as I believe they navigate this clown show the best any one individual can.

Go Cowboys!

Having been in the room before it very much looks and feels like a place of business. Don't over think some high fives and the excitement shared by the Jones family fool you.

That's true.

But its about the impression rather than reality.

If you are looking to do business with another organisation, and you turn up at their premises and its full if family members, including children runnjng around, what impression does it give? Would you chose that organisation over one with a polished professional image?
