The Chicago Bears have agreed to release quarterback Nick Foles, the team confirmed Saturday night.

The Bears originally acquired Foles two seasons ago in a trade with Jacksonville for a fourth-round draft pick.

After starting seven games in 2020, the Super Bowl LII MVP logged only one start last season. He carried a $10.67 million salary-cap hit in 2022.

Chicago general manager Ryan Poles confirmed in March that the team had been trying to trade Foles after adding veteran backup Trevor Siemian in free agency.

This would be a smart backup QB signing. Also, it would sting the Eagles.

If he came here it would be so much fun to hear the posters here call for him to start every week. Good times and would not get old ever.

Foles is a good backup. He just isn't a starter. He just got lucky during that SB run. I wish we could be that lucky one of these years.
Foles got lucky and played the Pats in the super bowl in one of the very few years where the Pats D stunk. (29th) It was also another example of how yards allowed by a D not only matters, it matters a ton. Foles drove the Eagles up and down the field like they were playing against burlap sacks. Pats were 5th in pts allowed, BTW. Problem w/ that is in the playoffs. Playoff teams are prone to scoring more.

QB needy team releases QB, let's get 'im!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, just last year several posters wanted to get rid of Dak for Foles.
needy? im betting they feel good about fields and then backups are dime dozen sure some better than others but if you lose your starter for the season typically over anyway, might as well tank for high draft picks that what this place loves they dont like 12-5 they rather have top 5 drfats ..

we won game with rush let that sink in..

foles asked to be let go, they allowed it. not a big deal but that said it means he wants to chose where he goes and im betting its location for his family more then anything..

I think it was a salary cap move.

Didn't the Vikings, who he touched in the Championship game, have the number one defense that year?
