The Cowboys can now send two 4.4 guys after the QB

The 3rd down rush package is going to be ridiculous. This Williams kid is even more physically gifted than Gregory and hopefully not near the head case. No more QBs having all day if they can run a little bit. With Parsons and Williams huntin 'em and Tank lurking from the inside those days are gone.. My favorite pick of the draft easily.

Thats right on, Wouldn't surprise me to see him on every 3rd and long opposite side of Micah.

You're right. He's not quite as tall as Gregory, but he has the speed to get after the QB.

This position is changing in the NFL. Gregory was kind of the first really lean, skinny but muscular guy to come to Dallas. But I'm seeing a trend where DEs are much much faster than they were a few years ago, by a lot.

Another guy I liked was Amare Barno.. Once he muscles up, that dude is going to be a beast, imo.

Micah is actually a 4.3 guy. Williams claims he is too and that he was a little disappointed with his combine number, after consistently timing in the 4.3s in combine prep.

Parsons' time was at a pro day and it was a high 4.3 not a low. Translated that means he's more like a 4.4 guy than a 4.3 guy. Which means he and Williams are probably pretty close in straight line speed. Although I don't see how Williams could equal Parsons in short area burst. Dude closes on ball carriers like a Lion on a rabbit.

Oooooohhhh, been wondering what you think of Sam. I do like what I've read so far.

It would be great if we found a long term true DE. It would be awesome to see him and Micah rushing from the same side with Sam at DE and Micah in a Von Miller like blitzing OLB role.

I remember him flashing at Ole Miss. I didn't pay close enough attention to realize they were playing him at 3-4 end and not 4-3 end or even 3-4 OLB.. which totally explains why he struggled at times against the run. Having to play that inside shoulder of the tackle subjected him to far more double teams and battles with bigger bodies than a player his size should ever have to deal with. I think Quinn is salivating about a pass rush package featuring Williams and Parsons on the ends with Tank and Armstrong inside. They just gotta stop the run well enough to get to 3rd down. Which means the big uns needs to show up on 1st and 2nd down.

I was just starting to dig into this kid and this was the first tape I watched:

I don't agree with the critique of his hand and strength needing work but you can see this kid killed Charles Cross anytime he lined up on him. Imagine these plays with DLaw coming from the otherside and Micah up the middle. Oh my...

I saw a couple of plays in one of his highlight reels where he chased a couple of plays down and it immediately reminded me of parsons. Not quite the blur that Micah is on those types of plays but it is similar. These two will be sick together, IMO.

Before getting too carried away I would wait until at least training camp and preseason. This happens after every draft with some fans going overboard about certain players. Lol This could end up being a great pick or just another second round disappointment. We’ve had very few second round picks pan out.
