Man, you guys better not be getting me excited about Sammy if he ain't all that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(Good stuff)

He's gotta earn it but he's got that ridiculous raw speed you can't teach and he's not undersized like some we've seen like TJ Watt or the kid ATL picked a few years back (#44? Was it Beasley?) who was small and fast but couldn't stay on the field. Watt had the good fortune of going to a 3-4 team that allows him to play OLB.. and he's had run ins with the injury bug even there. That elite speed has me VERY excited about him.. The fact that NFL teams let some chick screamin "rape" his freshman year drop him into the second round is just weird.. I mean dude was 2nd team all American and 1st team all SEC AND tested off the charts. Was there some expectation that Goodell is going to suspend him for pulling a girl's hair in grade school or something? Of course now that he's a Cowboys I fully expect Goodell to spend the next two years trying to figure out a way to suspend him.

Before getting too carried away I would wait until at least training camp and preseason. This happens after every draft with some fans going overboard about certain players. Lol This could end up being a great pick or just another second round disappointment. We’ve had very few second round picks pan out.

I wouldn't go quite that far. Diggs was just an all pro.. Sean Lee was a multi time pro bowler.. So was Flozell Adams.. Larry Allen is in the Hall of Fame and widely regarded as the best ever at his position. For all the criticism Connor Williams was a 4 year starter. Not great but a solid player. He was just cursed with playing on a line with too many other great linemen so was the weakest link for most of his time in Dallas. Owuzie was also a solid player for 4 years.. Every draft pick isn't going to turn into a Hall of Famer or even an all pro. If that's the standard then nobody ever succeeds at drafting. The Cowboys have had their share of whiffs but they've had their share of successes too. If a guy is a solid starter for the bulk of his time in uniform then to me that's a successful draft pick in just about any round.

With Ridgeway swallowing up 2 blockers . . . Micah should be able to blitz from anywhere

That is the big key right there.....with Ridgeway, Osa, Gallaway etc causing havoc up the middle; you can get these outside guys including Williams and Parsons to get to the QB fast. DQ can also bring outside/inside pressure from his hybrid LB and SS. He has a lot of tools in his tool kit now. I am sure he is excited as heck.

I sure hope you’re right but I see a lot of optimism for ridgeway . I think he’s just another guy hope I’m wrong

You’re going all the way back to Larry Allen I’m talking about more recent history with our second round picks. Chido had some injury issues, was inconsistent and never got a second contract. Sean lee was a great player but couldn’t stay healthy. His availability became an issue. Connor Williams was a four year starter but didn’t play very well. He was inconsistent, got benched and was allowed to walk. He didn’t pan out!

We’re in the post draft/ pre-camp phase where we overrate everybody.

It’s not unique to us. I remember when Giants fans thought Ramses Barden was going to change football.

There’s always a few fans that go overboard on some of these players immediately after the draft. It’s a common occurrence here and it happens after every draft. I don’t make any proclamations about draft picks until I see them perform at the NFL level. It’s the fans that get carried away that end up being the most frustrated when a draft pick they loved doesn’t meet their expectations.

Let's not forget about the ultimate "war daddy" Dlaw...

Great 2nd round selection.

The 3rd down rush package is going to be ridiculous. This Williams kid is even more physically gifted than Gregory and hopefully not near the head case. No more QBs having all day if they can run a little bit. With Parsons and Williams huntin 'em and Tank lurking from the inside those days are gone.. My favorite pick of the draft easily.
If it works the way you are thinking then yeah..

Hype already starting. Yall wonder why Jerry does what he does/players feel entitled. This Ridgeway hype is cute. Tell him to make the team and beat out Bohanna first.

Say's the grown man with a shirtless Rambo as his picture......

It's no stranger than having Micah Parsons as your picture. You're not Micah Parsons. See how that works?

Usually there's stories behind why people choose what they do and it has no bearing on whether they make good points on here or not.

Him sitting there was the very reason I was absolutely fine with the Smith pick.

So, his take on West Virginia was a good point?

I mean, I don't care what he says about a state that I don't even reside in, but it seems odd that you use that defense to defend his point.
