So, his take on West Virginia was a good point?

I mean, I don't care what he says about a state that I don't even reside in, but it seems odd that you use that defense to defend his point.

I have no idea what he meant by it and his point is irrelevant the conversation too.

So a fraction of a tenth of a second in running a straight line with no pads is a factor in rushing a passer when tackles are in the way.

Got it.

Can't recall what publication it was, but, I was greatly disturbed when I saw Dorance Armstrong listed as the projected starter opposite Tank Lawrence.

No disrespect to the kid, but I think he is a rotational player. I could be totally wrong though. I figured Fowler would be listed as the projected starter. Not that he is much better.

Let's go Rook!

I don't think we know right now. The LDE spot on rushing downs will have to be won The good news is that it looks like there is competition and will be a sold depth for rotation. It should work out that at the end of the game, both dlaw and the guy who wins the 3rd and 4th down spot on the left side should be fresh.

Agreed, the RDE is not set in stone. But, the publication I saw was a local one to DFW. I assume their reporter(s) have spoken with Barnum and Bailey (read Jerry and Stephen Jones) or someone on the staff prior to making a projection.

Anyway, the rookie will have ample opportunities to earn playing time and a starting role.

The 3rd down rush package is going to be ridiculous. This Williams kid is even more physically gifted than Gregory and hopefully not near the head case. No more QBs having all day if they can run a little bit. With Parsons and Williams huntin 'em and Tank lurking from the inside those days are gone.. My favorite pick of the draft easily.

Good pass rusher, but not much against the run. At least not yet.

I saw a couple of plays in one of his highlight reels where he chased a couple of plays down and it immediately reminded me of parsons. Not quite the blur that Micah is on those types of plays but it is similar. These two will be sick together, IMO.

He clearly does need to get stronger in the legs.

The top sack leaders in the NFL last year mostly ran in the 4.6s at the combine. I guess you must know something about 40yd dash translating to sacks no one else does.

Williams sounds a bit like Bruce Irvin. That isn't too bad of a comparison. Anyway, running QBs won't be getting away from our defenders.

I don't know about more gifted than Gregory. Randy without his psych issues was going to be a top 5 pick. He has more bend and stronger than De (Sam) coming out of college. De has many of Randy's traits to work with and was more productive although lower level of competition. Only time will tell I guess.

It's no stranger than having Micah Parsons as your picture. You're not Micah Parsons. See how that works?

Usually there's stories behind why people choose what they do and it has no bearing on whether they make good points on here or not.
The other guy started the insult war, just sayin'.

Scary for sure. Don’t forget the kid Oza up the middle. I’m expecting improvements from him.

Being stuck in a 3-4 base defense as a 5-tech DE exposed him to too many bodies at his size. At least that's what I think happened. He certainly didn't look overmatched when he got a chance to work in space against bigger guys but yeah.. he's not built to take on 330 pound men in the run game. Thankfully as 4-3 end he shouldn't have to near as often.

I don't judge defensive ends solely by sacks. I'm talking about more than just that one dimensional measurement. I'm talking about hurries, pressures, QB hits, errant throws forced and mobile QBs not running around back there all damn day. Sure sacks are nice.. but forcing the QB to throw before he wants to, missing his target and hitting Diggs instead is better than a sack to me.
