No it is not. It is to counter all the ones saying they screwed up, when they really didn’t.
Just because they did not pick the players you or others wanted. Or could not pick.

They did not pick players I wanted either, but I am fine with what they did overall. Many will contribute.

I guess you should go back and read it again and this time try to understand it better.
Those that think this was a bad off-season are casual fans. Cowboys did what they had to do.

well if you have LOW standards maybe the OP was right.

Congratulating someone for not screwing up is pretty pathetic.

We got no sure things.

We got guys with potential.

For those howling about Williams speed I would remind them that some of our great picks of the past like Shante Carver had pretty good speed as well.

Taking a project in the first round is a fail right there to anyone with HIGH standards.

I could go on but I am not that bored.
To be fair we have a front office that screws up a lot, on and off the field. Them acting like a normal front office blows me away at this point.

Agree, they seemed to have a plan coming in and only considered trading up if their targets were within reach in the 1st round.

It was a needs based draft and that's OK. What wasn't OK was that old fool trying to show off over the 1st pick.
Plus, Stephen Jones lied when he said the Cowboys had no holes of need to fill before the draft arrived.

Jerry and the FO deserves some credit for this draft.
Not because it was a great draft, as it was not great, but far from horrible also. Even though some think it was very good, others did not think so.
I am still "processing" it all.

They pretty much kept the team at status quo. Between the draft and FA, the lost players, then signed a few FA's as well as many of their own players (yes cue the we like our guys posts). But also with the draft.
Basically replaced lost players, but players with a very good upside.

But I say kudos for the draft, because, they stuck with their picks.
They did not trade up to lose picks, they did not trade down to lose out on a player (though many wanted them to draft their pet cat, but that is normal). They also did not do any stupid cute trades or trade any future picks. Like a 2023 6th to get a 2022 7th.

When was the last time this happened? I was happy they used all their picks, as they think they did so wisely. I am not drawing any conclusions though at this time.

Dallas has consistently drafted well for a decade now. Ever since 2013 they have consistently stuck to their board for the most part especially in early rounds and had an impressive hit rate.

The problems have been elsewhere.

We coulda got the best RB breece Hall in the draft w our #1 pick

And Jelani the beast who scores a TD every 5.5 catches with our #2 pick

And still got Jalen Tolbert w the 3rd pick.

Now we're gonna be playing w a washed up Zeke for the 3rd year in a row and Sean McKeon.

Id settle for a 4th round ol and 5th rd on defensive depth to get the top skilled players

Grade D

Whatever everybody else is doing in the draft ya want to do the opposite

We had too many holes on offense to start picking in the 3rd round

I haven’t processed the draft yet. But here is an initial observation based on what I have heard:

1. The Cowboys seem very pleased with that 5th round. They must be really high on them. You have to like that.

2. The Cowboys have pushed back on the idea that they reached and took take BPA. They seem to be indicating that BPA aligned with needs.

Either they got REALLY lucky or they reached for need. I’m leaning toward the idea that they reached for need regardless of what they are saying.

3. It’s good to see MM have some influence on the “theory” behind the draft picks. He seemed to be pushing to draft specific player types to advance in the playoffs. That seems like a good idea to me.

4. It’s good to see the “flyers” taken on day 3 instead of day two.
