so you are saying Jimmy picked a bad player and allowed bad kicker to remain on the team all year..huh fans here say we should have cut Zuerlein mid season..odd hypocrisy around here the great can do no wrong Jimmy would allow that..:omg::laugh:
Peg Leg Greg should’ve been booted out of the plane over the Gulf on the way back to Dallas from Tampa.

Yeah but Elliott himself was terrible. That team never needed things to come down to a FG.

The one weak link on that team.

wasn't Lin Elliott the kicker that told Jimmie Johnson that he " lost his confidence " ..so Jimmie cut him immediately ??

2021 SEASON (SENIOR)
Put his name in the Texas Tech record book during his final year as a Red Raider … became known for the big kick as one of the most accurate kickers in college football … was 15-of-16 on field goal attempts and 49-of-50 on PATs after being called upon in 12 games … was a perfect 14-for-14 on each of his attempts within 50 yards … found the uprights on each of his first 13 attempts to start the season … two of his field goals were game winners with late kicks in victories over both West Virginia and Iowa State … utilized on kickoffs once with his lone attempt going for a touchback … IN NCAA RECORD BOOK: his 62-yard field goal versus Iowa State marked the longest by an FBS kicker to win a game with less than a minute remaining … field goal was the third-longest successful attempt by a FBS kicker since the NCAA disallowed the use of kicking tees in 1988 … was the longest kick by a FBS kicker since Zach Hintze of Wisconsin was successful from the same distance in a 2019 game versus Purdue … IN BIG 12 RECORD BOOK: his 62-yard field goal marked the second-longest in conference history, trailing only the 65-yard successfully try from Martin Gramatica in Kansas State’s 1998 contest versus Northern Illionis … was the longest kick all-time in league history for a game between two conference schools … was only the fourth field goal to find the uprights from 60 yards or longer in conference history … IN TEXAS TECH RECORD BOOK: tied the Texas Tech school record previously set by Clayton Hatfield in 2018 after successfully making each of his first 13 field goal attempts to start the season … snapped the single-game record for longest field goal after drilling a 62-yarder to beat Iowa State at the end of regulation … previous record of 57 yards was set by Bill Adams against Texas A&M in 1977 … set the career record for field goal percentage, narrowly edging Hatfield’s previous mark of 84.7 percent with a 85.2 percentage of his own (23-of-27) … IN NCAA RANKINGS: closed the season ranked sixth nationally in field goal percentage (93.8), 44th in scoring per game (7.8) and 51st in field goals per game (1.25) … boasted the longest field goal in the FBS with his 62-yard attempt versus Iowa State … IN BIG 12 RANKINGS: was the Big 12 leader in field goal percentage and ranked fourth for field goals per game and fifth for scoring per game … SEASON HIGHLIGHTS: called on only three times in non-conference play, hitting from 34 yards against Houston (9/4) and then 21 and 28 yards versus Florida International (9/18) … played a key role in win at West Virginia (10/2), finding the uprights from 33, 29 and 32 yards out … final field goal from 32 yards out put the Red Raiders ahead 23-20 with 18 seconds remaining, marking the second game-winner of his career at the time … tabbed the Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week following the win … combined for four successful field goals the next three weeks, which came from 38 yards against TCU (10/9), 28 and 48 yards at Kansas (10/16) and 27 yards against Kansas State (10/23) … biggest performance of his career was in the memorable win over Iowa State (11/13) that pushed the Red Raiders back to bowl eligibility … made two key field goals to end each half, the first on a 45-yard attempt to give the Red Raiders a 31-14 lead at the break … caused a field storming to close the game with a 62-yard attempt as time expired, giving the Red Raiders a 41-38 victory … was the third and final game-winning kick of his career, earning him Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week honors once again … did not appear in the loss to Oklahoma State (11/20) a week later as the Red Raiders were shut out … pushed into duty twice in the regular-season finale at Baylor (11/27), finding the uprights from 46 yards midway through the first quarter before missing from 53 yards on what would have been a game-tying attempt at the end of regulation … first field goal matched the Texas Tech career record for most-consecutive attempts … recovered to make two field goals in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl against Mississippi State (12/28), finding the uprights from 31 and 26 yards … matched the Texas Tech bowl record for most made field goals that had been accomplished seven times previously … AWARDS AND HONORS: named to the All-Big 12 first team by the conference coaches … became first Red Raider kicker to be tabbed to the first team since Clayton Hatfield in 2018 … joined Hatfield and Alex Trilica (2007) as the only kickers in the Big 12 era to garner first team accolades … received votes for Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Year … selected as a semifinalist for the Lou Groza Award … tabbed the Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week twice (Oct. 4 and Nov. 15) following wins over West Virginia and Iowa State … marked the second and third times in his career to receive the award … joined Wes Welker as the only Red Raiders in program history to be named the conference’s top special teams player over three different weeks in school history … honored for work in the classroom as part of the Academic All-Big 12 second team … SENIOR DECISION: elected to forego his final season of eligibility in order to enter the 2022 NFL Draft.

There's a long list of Jimmy Johnson mistakes.

All but one of the Parcells drafts were terrible.

Not sure what you're getting at.
they all make mistakes that was easy..next btw parcels took off early because he wasn't in it to win it..he started something and left early wanted to eb Gm and left us hanging..dont say it was jerry it wasn't he couldn't hack the long game needed 2 more years of building and we could have been great just packed up and left..i have zero respect for him atll all an ex giant and then comes in loses Peyton for our future by not letting on he would retore or leave and make SP the next HC instead waits and then up and leaves..

nah doesn't happen...made soem game winning or kicks that got us into OT.. cant wait until the next kicker struggles and see how this place reacts, il be book marking this thread and follow this rookie closely..

BTW the hypocrites in here said we should have stashed Baily when he was struggling and injured and let him go to early..but GZ should have been cut post back surgery after game 1 !! lmao

what total hypocrite..

nick folk baily somewhat bounced back but then were done..the FOI was trying to let the guy work through few issues and while doing so made so clutch kicks..

Yeah, I love being on the edge of my seat, just not during routine FGs.

Even XP.....which should be automatic. This kid is almost perfect--49/50 last season. We shall see. His only missed FG was over 50 yards. 15/16...
