I trust Brian Baldinger more than Mel Kiper and Brian broke down Sam Williams

Blasphemy! How dare you choose a dude that actually has NFL experience and is a 52 week/year NFL Analyst over Mel Jr., a God in the annals of draft guruism.

Exactly!!! Yet Mel was saying "Hurr durr durr, Ferguson's blocking is suspect". That was one of the stupidest things he could have said, considering that he's a Wisconsin TE. Plus, it was rubbish because he would've gushed about that had the Ravens picked Ferguson. So yeah, Mel Kiper can go play in traffic.
You are on fire!

I tend 2 always go with the opposite of whatever Mel says. He is never right. CBS sports has a completely different take. Espn is agenda driven and biased against all things Cowboys.

Completely independent of this year’s Dallas draft class, whatever Kiper once had is long gone. His draft analysis borders on absurd at times.

agreed. McShay actually sounds legit in comparison lol..btw..my guy has been Dane Bugler. He called this stuff 2 weeks ago. His evals are really consistent. He misses but will admit when he missed. His take is we had a really decent draft. Wasn't sexy, just very methodical and trended towards very physical productive guys.I must give Kudos to Pete Prisco of CBS..he was really accurate as well. He was fair. But yeah, Mel is just nutty.

He may be wrong, but I think it is a safe to say this is a questionable class with unknowns.

I don't really know how anyone could say otherwise at this point.
Are any of these guys legit day 1 starters (earn the job vs given the job)? Serious contributors in year 1?
You would like a draft where you felt at least reasonably comfortable that you could answer yes to those questions.
This might turn out to be the greatest draft in NFL history ..... or it may turn out to be a colossal failure. But if Vegas put odds on it, wouldn't they lean toward failure?

PS - just to be clear, even if Smith were to become a really good G it doesn't justify him being picked at 24. To be a true value, he will have to perform at T or the value simply isn't there. There were G's picked in the 3rd round that are believed to have Pro Bowl potential.

I have no idea how this class is going to do. It could go well for a couple of them, but no way to know which ones. Felt better about last year's draft. As usual, we will see if they can be coached up.

It's pretty clear McShay puts the work into his analysis. I like listening to him much more than most of the other so called draft experts.

Every single pick is a unknown lol. Nobody in this draft is a sure thing can’t miss prospect. What a silly reason to justify his score.

The reason most of our fans don’t have a clue is because most of them weren't familiar with any of our draft picks .

Most of us who spend a lot of time watching College Football are familiar with many players especially of those which conference you watch the most .

This is why we rely on these draft gurus for info. We don’t necessarily rely on their evaluation of talent level but it is nice to know how they fared at the combines , some video of their performances and history at their school . Most of which we aren’t as familiar going in on all of these players drafted.

Yea, we might not agree with these analyst individual evaluations but we should respect the time they’ve put into their research and knowledge of the players . It’s much more than the average fan puts in or knows.

Id be curious to how many other team grades you’d disagree with or is it just the Cowboys which comes off like more of sour grapes to me . Most are grading the Cowboys with a B or B- so a C+ isn’t that much of a stretch to raise such a fuss about IMO.

What most people do not understand about draft grades is that the players are not the focus of the draft grade so much as the spot in the draft they were chosen. If you pick a kid in round 2 that the draft guru gave a 4th round grade, the draft grade goes down.

Draft "value" is where the Dallas front office really falls on its face b/c they do not have a sense of what other teams are doing or how anyone else values the player. That's why its rare we get top grades. The Jones boys do not have a hand on the pulse of the league and it really shows on draft day..............
