The AJ Brown trade was brilliant for the Titans. I wish the Cowboys had their thought process

If you notice, a lot of these teams that have quarterbacks on big contracts, are sending their WRs that need to be paid big money to teams with QBs on rookie deals.

I think Tannehill is a 38m cap hit this year. I guess they could have paid brown as long as they move on from Tannehill after this season.

If the Cowboys offered Dak for the 5th pick and maybe the Texans 2021 1st round pick they would have likely agreed to the deal.

These dream scenarios always seem to come down to another team's FO being dumber than the Cowboys. :muttley:

Why would the Dolphins have given up all that for the right pay a QB you obviously don't think was worth paying?

I'm not saying you're wrong about Dak or that I wouldn't like to have Herbert, but calling that trade scenario "likely" is a pipe dream.

AJ Brown is good but not elite similar to Dak. The WR is exploding so instead of paying elite money for a good player they traded him and replaced him with a similar player on a rookie contract + got an additional 3rd round pick. There is no guarantee Burks will be a Pro Bowl WR but teams have to trust their scouting (including scouting their own players). In the 2020 draft the Dolphins were aggressively trying to move up from the 5th pick to the 1st pick in order to draft Burrow. They were willing to sell the farm. If the Cowboys offered Dak for the 5th pick and maybe the Texans 2021 1st round pick they would have likely agreed to the deal. We could have selected Herbert with the 2020 5th overall pick and been in a much better situation.

Or they draft Tua/Love/whoever and we're much, much worse off than now. Imagine you do this last year and convince the Jets to give up the 2nd overall pick for him and draft Wilson. Sure its early, but he hasn't shown anywhere near what Dak did in his rookie year.

You can't pick and choose what QB will fall to you. Its a crapshoot, I would take Dak over any of the QBs drafted last year.

You Dak haters have gone overboard with your Dak hate. Like children hell bent on continuing to spew canceling hate against actors you don't like on Disney. Dak is not going anywhere and thankfully not. He's a top 8 QB. Good enough for the Cowboys to win with. Just need to fix the Oline and a few things more.

We don't do outside the box here
We did zero trades this draft.
We went from taking risk, to no risk

I can cetainly see the dilemma. Working a lifetime making a 100,000 a year as an engineer or working 10 years and making 200,000,000.

I'd be loving me some football
It was also his physical health that he was concern about. I live in PAC 10 country and this was one the concerns that scouts were having with Herbert. Didn’t know if he really loved the game.

I'm not what? How the hell can the Cowboys trade the Texans first round draft pick?

I stopped reading as soon as you said AJ Brown was not elite.

He is very good not elite. Elite = Kupp, Deebo, Chase, Hopkins, Justin Jefferson, Tyreek Hill, and Davonte Adams. Dak as a QB = Brown as a WR.

Was with you until you chose to die on the Disney hill. Cmon man, what did they arrest, 108 employees?

Major difference is that TEN wasn't trying to get out from under a present contract and over the cap and they didn't tell the league in their ego show what their intention was. Most NFL teams prefer to play their cards close to the vest and surprise the media, not alert them.

Brown is 24 and Cooper has some questions about his consistency with two different teams now.

Comparing a WR to Dak is not at all what I expected for this thread.

Kudos for thoughtful and innovative ways to bash Dak!
