Jerry and the FO deserves some credit for this draft.
Not because it was a great draft, as it was not great, but far from horrible also. Even though some think it was very good, others did not think so.
I am still "processing" it all.

They pretty much kept the team at status quo. Between the draft and FA, the lost players, then signed a few FA's as well as many of their own players (yes cue the we like our guys posts). But also with the draft.
Basically replaced lost players, but players with a very good upside.

But I say kudos for the draft, because, they stuck with their picks.
They did not trade up to lose picks, they did not trade down to lose out on a player (though many wanted them to draft their pet cat, but that is normal). They also did not do any stupid cute trades or trade any future picks. Like a 2023 6th to get a 2022 7th.

When was the last time this happened? I was happy they used all their picks, as they think they did so wisely. I am not drawing any conclusions though at this time.

Jerry put sliced oranges and limes in the kool-ade. It sure tastes swell!

No, I don't. I also believe that Smith is an upgrade at left guard over Williams. I believe that Williams and Fowler will have more sacks than Gregory will. I believe that Tolbert is a solid receiver. I believe that Ferguson makes the team better at tight end. I believe that Clark has tremendous upside for 2023. I believe that Ridgeway gives them improvement at 1 tech. He will make some plays.
You believe us getting better at all those positions leads to 1 less win than last year?

Please, explain this logic to me.

How do we "upgrade" all these positions as you say, but overall have a worse record? Rational thinking would be a 12-5 team that upgrades would be better, no?

Hard to believe that you don't know anything about the draft. How can you grade the team on paper when you don't know anything about the players drafted?

Usually I follow CFB a little better but situations didn't let me this past season. Even if I don't follow I usually know the first rounder at least. With that said, how often does anyone besides round 1-3 really help your team? Also, what do you really expect from the first rounder this year? He's never played Guard. EVER. So he's going to beat Connor Williams, a 3 year starter automatically because he was taken in the first round? Seems like bad logic considering the consensus on him was he was a 50-70 pick from the experts (like you).

They say that Tennessee was going to grab Smith in the 1st round as well. That pretty much makes him a late 1st round pick. After listening to his interviews you can see why the Cowboys were so high on him. I do think that he will be better that Williams. I like his attitude and the way he carries himself. The odds are good that he will be better than Williams.

I can't really explain it to you. You seem to have low intelligence. I told you that they will win at least 11 and will win the division. You don't seem to know how difficult it is to win that many games.

If Zeke doesnt have a big year this year, he will be gone.

Only reason he is still here is because they cant dump him. When was the last time he had a big year? And really its more about can someone else do your job as well or better for less. And the answer to that question is 100% yes. Pollard has been doing it for 3 years now.

Sure I do.

I believe you are full of it, got called out, and is now resorting to insults because you don't have the ability to explain your flawed logic because you also see that it is flawed. You'd rather say I have "low intelligence" to deflect from the fact that you believe us "upgrading" from last year's team will result in a worse record when the opposite should happen. If the team is not better than last year then it is a downgrade, not an upgrade, genius.

I agree actually, I like the kid but I think it will be a high order for him to go right in, in a new position and be better than Williams at least right away. It could happen but I expect some growing pains the first year at least. Like I said, I hope I am wrong. Everyone knew that Williams needed upgraded. Lets hope Tyler is but there may not be instant success.

I give Jerry & Friends zero credit. Jerry is the sole reason why we are begging for table scraps and think ruling the division is as good as it gets...ever. I think we are having a bad offseason, but really it's just status quo, minus a gazillion dollar contract to one of our own--which Jerry TRIED to do once again. And fans celebrate because we "finally learned our lesson". Maybe I'm wrong about Smith, but I'm not wrong about Biadez. But the draft is only part of the picture, no matter who turns into what, and Jerry gets all the credit in the world for avoiding FA once again, ensuring we will never win a Super Bowl as long as he has his dentures in the glass. Imagine if we had landed Wagner. Even if we whiffed on the draft, and did nothing else in FA, we still have a lethal defense with just Parsons and Wagner putting the fear of God into offenses.

What I'm reading is that the grade the cowboys are getting for this draft is like a C or C+ .

So average. No kudos .

IMO, It’s too early to give kudos on a draft full of players that haven’t played a down of regular season NFL football. It’s also too early to say this draft is a bust.

Credit is due upon accomplishments. I believe real credit is earned by winning playoff games as a team, not by how many pro bowls individual players get. We haven’t accomplished anything with these new players yet. Let’s give them a chance and see how it unfolds. If it translates to playoff success, credit earned.

I am not mad at all of the picks. I am however mad that they drafted to replace players they lost. There is no reason to try and fix the offense because without Cooper its going to take a step back regardless.

What should have been another defensive draft wasnt. They took a project in the first round, and a player that sucks against the run in the second. This was a perfect opportunity to build this team around Parsons. Johnson and Jones were sitting right there. If this team went with Johnson, Jones, Tolbert, Salyer they would be a much better team. But, defensive players dont sell jerseys. And I am not buying what this FO is selling this year. I've had enough. Will I watch every game? Most likely.

My issue is this team refuses to get better against the run no matter what, and on top of that they wasted a 24th overall pick on a player they admitted that there was higher graded players out there. I dont trust Joe Philbin to "coach up" Tyler Smith. At all.

The kudos was about them sticking with their picks, as opposed to the picks themselves. Like I said, it was not great nor horrible.
But they did not try to be cute to outsmart everyone. As we know, that never works for them.

Of course we need to wait until they are on the field, but also need to wait those 3 years to see the real impact.
