It was the Cowboys doctor who diagnosed Clark with a herniated disk

I have a

I have a ruptured C3-C4 that was shown to be bulging into the nerve canal back in 2000. I never got it operated on and have a lot of bone spurs etc. I have good months and bad months. The arms and hands were on fire for 2 years until the nerves adjusted .I also had double crush syndrome from working as a CADD Drafter.

Drs had different opinions on if I needed the surgery and the final decision was:

If I did not have loss of bodily functions and the arm pain subsided which it did mostly, that a fusion would not help with the neck pain as having the plates and screws in the neck will always be somewhat painful plus I would have limited mobility. Plus the neck according to the DR was stable. If unstable, you would want surgery in case you had an accident that could cripple you.

According to my buddy, plates and screws in the neck are no fun when its cold and damp or near a AC unit in the summer. Now both disks above his fusion have degenerated (he is 70) and he just had 4 epidural injections to quite down the inflammation.

Today, I do 5 minutes of resistance bad strengthening daily. A nice COOP adjustable foam pillow also helps
I have a home traction unit, to stretch my neck away from my body, that I use each night, after about ten minutes on my inversion table. Arthritis in the spine suuuucccckkkksss...But both devices have helped a lot.

This may have been mentioned already. From Bob McGinn.

5. DAMONE CLARK, Louisiana State (6-2 ½, 239, 4.60, 3-7): After backing up Devin White in 2018 and Patrick Queen in ’19, he started in the middle the past two years. “Big, long-armed (33), athletic and fast,” said one scout. “His instincts are a touch off. They were off two years ago and improved since then. Very productive; he was a bright light in a dark room at LSU this past season. As the season sunk he just kept playing and got better. Reluctantly, he could do it (wear the green dot).” At the combine, one of the Cowboys’ team doctors diagnosed him with a herniated cervical disc. On March 24, he underwent a fusion through the front of his neck and won’t play in 2022. “There’s no way he goes first- or second-round now,” the scout said. “He’s going to sink like a rock.” Finished with 249 tackles (23 ½ for loss) and 10 sacks. “He was the No. 1 (linebacker),” said a second scout. “Not as talented as Devin White but he was all over the place. Just makes plays. Explosive as hell. He can cover and blitz. He’s a Pro Bowl linebacker. He’ll stack. Strikes people. They man him up a lot. He was amazing.” Wonderlic was 9. “Good man (cover) on running backs,” said a third scout. “Inconsistent tackler in space more due to technique than skill. Can have delayed reactions at times. Probably can play all three positions but you might be a little hesitant to put him at Mike based on the mental. Very talented. He’ll start.” From Baton Rouge, La. “I guess you could draft him late or sign him as a college free agent and pay him for the year and see how the surgery goes,” a fourth scout said. “Just redshirt him. But a linebacker with a fused neck? I don’t know.”

Are you thinking what I'm thinking?

Pretty clever of Jerry. Yeah you need surgery, kid. My God this is terrible. Hey, do we have your contact info for the draft? Okay. Tough break.

I've had two neck Surgeries in 2015 the C5 to C7 fused and than in 2018 the C3 to C5 fused so today I have about 80% range in neck and bone spurs removed in the 2015 Surgery honestly my neck was probably alot worse than his. He can play with what he had the only thing over the years the vertabra above and belong can wear. But he can play for years.

So you have 7 consecutive vertebrae fused? Nod, if the answer is yes.

Have you tried the chronic to ease the pain?
Or, in the absence of herb, a gin and tonic?
Dear boy, I hope you feel better.

Can't use chronic...truck driver. I appreciate the sentiment, but I can live with it, for now. Maybe someday I'll need to get surgery, but I'm trying to avoid that. I can still (usually) lift weights, and do the manual labor associated with my job. I just have to be careful how I do it.

Very strange our Dr. found it (Damone said he didn't even know he had an issue????) and then we take him. Maybe the Dr. legitimately found it but i assure you Jerry had the real scoop and everyone else got doom and gloom lol

Jerry had the scoop the good Doctor was selling him.

Not strange the Dr found it. My understanding is that he's one of the top sports injury guys in the country, and with Jerry building him a clinic, you can be sure it's all top notch.

I thought the Doc would give us an edge. Maybe he does. Maybe he just gives *himself* an edge with Jerry.

a mere 5th roundd, late round pick on a guy with that kind of size/speed ratio, and productivity at a big school competition conference, i'll gladly take that low risk/high reward.
Not like it's a high 2nd round pick ala Jaylon Smith.
