And if Stafford throw gets INT by SF, which probably happens 9/10 times, then he blew another playoff game.

He needs help and he had a "super" team around him.
Lots of ifs.
But IF that had been a pick, it would've been his first 4th quarter pick all year.

Not even counting IF an early Stafford pass would've been caught for a TD, etc, etc. There are always IFs on the way to Super Bowl playoff runs.
He led 3 straight 4th quarter comeback wins in the playoffs.

Btw, his defense for the year was rated about middle of the pack---so most certainly not a super team-- but they did pull off some great plays to close out some playoff games. No denying that.

Baker will land in a team and will have another shot . last year playing with such injuries hurt his performance.
Darnold is almost done.

Mahomes is great but I think they are going to struggle some without Hill and in a much tougher division now

Cowherd has an opinion like everyone else and is usually wrong. Don’t know why some put any weight into anything he says. Just because he has a platform allowing him to give his opinions doesn’t mean he knows what he’s talking about.

I think Stafford is even better than he showed last year.
He has some residual issues from the 12 years of trying to overcompensate for mostly crap rosters in Detroit to get rid of.
He is preposterously talented and always has been.

As I said before last year; put him on a balanced (or anything close to that) roster and he will strongly content for or win titles.
That immediately was proven to be true.

In fact, I think he would've been in dreamland being on even the rosters that Dallas has had from 2016-2021....and Dallas would've been more successful.
Always liked him , San Fran dropping the int. Put him in the SB

Stafford played with one of the top WR to play the game in Calvin "Megatron" Johnson
lol.
Nobody ever said Calvin wasn't great. And Calvin always said Stafford is the best and said wait till you see him with a real team.

Yeah that one player out of 50-60 man roster should've gotten him in the playoffs more!
Come on now, you know better.
They usually had crap defenses (barring 2014), crap run game, crap oline
John played 9 seasons in Detroit. Out of a maximum 144 games, he missed only 9.
Started in 130 of those 135 games. Johnson caught 70 or more passes in 7 of those 9 seasons (48 in his rookie and third year, respectively).
6 seasons totaled 1100 + yards (756, 984, 1077 in the other 3).
Yet ---the Lions had only TWO winning seasons....and the overall record during Megatron's career was 54-90 (0-2 in the postseason).

Stafford is a Super Bowl champion that lead his offense through the playoffs without ANY run support at all.

The Cowboys didn't win a game this year with Dak at QB without 100 yards of rushing support.

I could live with Stafford in tier 3, but Dak needs too much help, luck, elite players all around, and things working perfectly to even function most of the time.

Stafford has played in the NFL for 12 seasons and JUST won a Superbowl. Dak has played only 5 seasons and is still better than Stafford. Dak could have probably won a Superbowl with that Rams squad.

Stafford is a very good quarterback but if he was special, it wouldn't have taken him 12 years to win one. Dak also had a better winning percentage than Stafford in their first 5 or 6 years.

Give me Dak over Stafford anyday.

Also remember that Marino never won a Superbowl.... does that make Stafford better than him??? Trent Dilpher won a Superbowl, so do that mean Dilpher and Stafford are equally talented??

Stafford isn't better than Dak because he is a Super Bowl champ.

Stafford is better than Dak because Dak sucks.

Better WR. Sucked when it mattered
So now it’s the OL and WR, next it’s the coaches, sun in his eyes, and the ref’s, sounds like a lot of excuses for a top 10 QB.

I think you're underestimating just how good guys like Mahomes and Allen are.

Mahomes has never had a 1,000 yard rusher at RB.
Allen has never had a 1,000 yard rusher at RB.

They are leading the offenses with their arms and their own ability to run the ball without much run support at all.

I'm going to say that this is what guys like Cowherd are referring to when they say things like this. Guys like Mahomes and Allen show that they don't need literally every aspect of the offense to be elite to be successful.
If you’re trying to say that KC or Buffalo don’t have very good to great rosters, that’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. They have great rosters….and great coaching. Mayfield had a great roster and blew it, but very few teams have those great rosters. Baltimore also has a very good roster every year.

Stafford had an elite roster. Elite defense and offense. Not having a great run game isn’t something they overcame. It’s how their team is built.

They did have a bad OL, just like KC the previous year. Still had a great roster on defense and great skill players. The Bengals were not a bad roster. There’s a big difference between a good roster with weak areas and a bad roster. Jets, Giants, Jags, Panthers, Lions…..bad rosters, lots of issues, not just 1-2 to play around.

Do you not think Dallas has had one of the better rosters since 2016?

Just heard Cowherd talking about how Mayfield blew it in Cleveland despite being talented. He doesn’t think Sam Darnold blew it in NY or Carolina. His argument is Sam got a second chance but he’s just not talented enough to overcome a bad roster. Sounds so stupid….he compares Darnold by saying he cannot overcome a bad roster like Mahommes, Allen, etc.

Why can’t people just say these QBs are supremely talented, super elite. There’s another group who are very talented but are below the elite group. Then come average QBs you can win games with, followed by QBs who just aren’t very talented.

When did Mahommes, Allen, Jackson and other super talented QBs ever overcome a bad roster and win anything? No one wins with a bad roster, no matter how good their QB is. I hear others besides Cowterd refer to QBs who’s talent would win anywhere….BS. These guys are on great rosters with good coaching. Put Mahommes or Allen on last year’s bad teams, and those teams aren’t going anywhere.

It’s easy to see the difference between great, very good, good, and bad QB’s, but none of them are going to win with a bad roster.

Article on CBS today . Dak finally seen in the proper light . Love to see more article like this . Dak needs to go
