I just want the best guy out there.
And that’s what camp is for
Biadasz will go into camp as the one
And I think he played better last year than most do. I also think after a full season and going into effectively his second camp he will be even better
I also like the way Farniok plays the game
I think a guy pushing another is a good thing
I think Farniok will not only push Biadasz but will also push MCGovern for the swing spot

The Cowboys are definitely looking for Tyler Smith to replace Tyron when he misses games. The more I read about him the more I’m thinking we may have moved on from one penalty machine and added another. His penalty issues come up with everything I read about him.

Can 100% see the reasoning behind this pick.
Can plug and play at LG with his raw strength and athleticism.
Then you move him to LT as your back up for the 3 games a year Tyron usually misses.
Give him a couple years of that then he takes LT full-time.

Now that is the "perfect" scenario but could certainly fail.

What is 100% accurate without any doubt whatsoever however is that the Cowboys OL got a ton stronger with this selection.
Tyler Smith bullied people. He pancaked tons of folks.
He flat missed hot reads and small blitzers badly at times but the big dudes who lined up directly on him got abused.
This move gives Dallas the big nasty to run behind.
There were times he knocked two defenders down on the same play.
His PFF ol play score was record setting in the run game for his conference.
Zeke will have to keep an eye out on blizters/stunters from his gaps but he could also really enjoy power running behind this big ole boy.

All we heard about micah was wasting a pick on an offball LB.
Fans and bloggers are simple people.

Tyron is your LT starter so the plan isn't to give that job to Tyler today. But to survive a few games and if he does get even 2 holding penalties per game in that stretch so be it.
It's still better than having Connor Williams body slammed back onto your QB twice a game which has been happening for 3 years.

"But we just feel"...did it for me.....they probably said the same about Taco too....I hope Tyler turns out to be a quick learner and a stud on the Oline where ever he plays...all the best to him...but it doesn't give me hope when Jerry and Co...say "but we just feel"....

I don’t remember hearing any bad things about Parsons. Many felt he was the best defensive player in the draft. At least two or three of the talking heads were picking him for defensive rookie of the year before training camp ever started. The reviews on Tyler Smith have been pretty mixed. Some have even gone as far as to say he was a reach. Saw some film of him grabbing and grabbing. I try not to get caught up with everyone’s opinions but I remember the opinions on Taco were pretty mixed. Not saying he’s going to end up a bad pick like Taco but we’ll just have to see. The penalties he had in college are concerning. The first thing Kiper said about him was he was a penalty waiting to happen. Granted everyone has an opinion we’ll find out this summer what he brings.

Tyler is a scout pick. Taco was all Marinelli.

Call me when he's ready. All draft picks are taken because they show something teams are looking for but they do not all work out. Maybe he does develop into a good or better tackle, but that is still a maybe. What I know as of today is his 1 attribute that made him look good is his strength and that will get minimized by good defensive players. Now playing LG could/should minimize his lack of technique while he continues to develop but that also means he isn't getting tons of reps at LT and that is what he will need in order to take over. So to me imho he plays mostly if not all snaps at LG this year and next camp should get more in depth training at LT. With practices so limited I just don't know if he can get enough reps at both this year.

So many contradictions in one post.

Your memory is very faulty in that case.
Try googling "micah parsons will be a bust"
And if you just re-wind these thread a year he was the LEAST liked pick for Dallas as no one in Dallas wanted to see an off-ball after Jaylon/LVE.

Micah had set out a full COVID year, had an off-field concern over a teammate fight, spent two years at PSU learning to play LB after being a HS DE.

Tyler Smith was flat terrorizing DEs at Gof5 and when they played P5 opponents.
He is just too raw to walk in playing LT.
But that is a perfect fit in Dallas because the day 1 need is LG and like La'el Collins the fastest way to get on the field for a big ole OL is Guard.
At same time you have a ceiling there to make drafting an LG feel better in Round 1.
Hard to argue imo Dallas could have done better for themselves with that pick.

My memory isn’t faulty I don’t follow those publications. I get my information from NFL Network and they were high on Parsons. I didn’t hear any of them predict he would be a bust. We’ll find out in training camp if Smith is going to be any good. We found out during Taco’s first training camp he was going stink. Collins flat out dominated him during a training camp practice that had everyone shaking their heads. He couldn’t beat Collins once! Many of the fans on this board blew it off claiming he’s a rookie and he’ll get better. He never did. Many seem to think Smith is a good run blocker. I haven’t heard any criticisms of him in that area. It’s the penalties that are a concern.

I know Pat Kirwin when he talked to OL coaches in the NFL many compared Smith to Collins

Collins was good for a while and then fell off.

Was suspended 5 games last year and had to fight to get on the field because of the play of Steele. Smith playing guard I think would be a big help as opposed to playing outside at tackle

Taco is the one time the fan base has been right in the last decade. He obviously lacked pass rush moves and was basically drafted his is raw size and athleticism.
Fans were 100% correct and Cowboys 100% wrong. Hilariously and painfully so.

NFL Network is a tiny sample size.

Parsons was rated highly by many scouts but also knocked by many others.
And he was the guy who actually fell the most of the top 5 ranked players. Multiple CBs and WRs jumped him.
Dallas tr4aded down and made him a good value then he turned into the best rookie of all.

Demarcus Ware wasnt very good in his rookie camp. Just too raw. But that worked out OK.
Some guys are Taco, some are Micah and others are Demarcus.

What I can tell you in advance is that DTs won't run through Tyler Smith. Thats all I know for sure at this point.

Please tell me you aren’t seriously referring to special teams as equivalent to learning the techniques of multiple starting positions.

You’re not doing that? Right?
I never said anything about special teams. But imagine thinking players in the NFL only practice 1 position as rookies. Embarrassing.

What in the hell are you talking about? Lol… Maybe there is some variation on roles within a position (X, Y, Z WR, CBs that learn outside/slot technique, LBs that learn to rush from DE,) but no— most rookies aren’t learning “multiple” positions

There is a big difference between OT and G in the NFL. Why don’t we just leave the discussion at Tyler Smith… He has a big adjustment learning G coming from playing LT— where he was already considered a raw prospect.

You seem fine with cross-training him at LT in addition to expecting him to start at LG. I think that hurts his development at both positions. He needs to learn LG and stay there. Transition to LT when he can focus on that over a whole offseason.
