I'd liked to look into the severity of Moose's neck fusion.. vs Damone Clark's case.

Was Moose's case a much higher, more severe degree than Clarke and LVE ?

Didn't LVE eventually had to have neck fusion surgery as well ?
Can we assume it was a far lesser degree than Moose ?
Note that ACDF surgical techniques/technology have come quite far in the last 20 years.

Why? His neck was fine last year. LVE looked like he either didn't trust it or he was just adjusting to the new defense but either way he improved a lot towards the end of the season.

He looked far from fine and nothing like his lone pro bowl season.

He looked good by the end of the season.

At the beginning of the season he was running like Frankenstein, but by mid-season he was covering TEs with no issues.

I'm not sure if neck surgery impact the ability to run or if there was another issue.

Moose had a shortened career partly because of that neck. I think he plays 2-3 more years if not for that.

Moose was 33 years old when he retired.

LVE had a different surgery. His surgery widened the opening for the spinal nerves to prevent the nerves from being pinched by bone.

No clue about this type of surgery......will it impact his career?

• While we’re there, LSU’s Damone Clark was another player whose stock plummeted over the last few months for medical reasons. Doctors at the combine caught a back issue when he told them of problems he’d had with stingers, and it was determined that he should get disc fusion surgery. At that point, Clark was expected to be drafted on Friday night, somewhere in the second or third round.

But the back surgery may knock him out for his entire rookie season, and that was enough to knock him all the way down to the fifth round, where Dallas scooped him up.

Like LVE’s surgery i guess. His was in his neck and had problems since college. I believe they pulled him during the season and had it fixed. He wasn’t as effective the next season but he was playing with Jaylon. LVE had a good year last year.

Wife has had 2 levels in her neck fused and had the opening widened twice to free up nerves. She can tackle pretty good but can’t cover me. Lol.

I thought he had the same surgery, fused and opening widened. Said it’s happened to him in college but put off surgery. Next season he didn’t look the same but the Defense didn’t either. He looked fine last year. I think the wolf hunter is back.

He had something done in college. He had what he thought were stingers then. Which is what Clark told the combine doctors, that he had a lot of stingers.

strange thing was he did not find out he needed surgery until an MRI at the combine revealed an issue. He ran at the combine posting a 4.57

Clark wasn’t mentioned among the elites at the position alongside Alabama’s Christian Harris and Utah’s Devin Lloyd among others, but LSU’s star tackler showed he is one of the SEC’s top players at the position with a strong showing. Clark caught everything thrown his way during individual interception drills and ranked in the top-tier of fellow linebackers across the board with a 4.57 time in the 40-yard dash, a 36.5-inch vertical and a 10-foot-7 broad jump. Essentially, Clark showed on the field what his film reveals — he’s a tenacious player who measures up athletically. It’s hard to imagine Clark dropping to Day 3 later this year.
