Kudos to the cowboys on the draft. Watching the draft, it's boring because you know the weaker teams are about the same every year, and they'll get the best of the best chance to pick the top guy. Does it mean that because you're number 1 that you'll be a lock for the hall of Fame, hell no!

I just think that there needs to be a different way so that all teams get a fair chance to get the number 1 pick. Dare I bring up games towards the end of the season where tanking could happen just to get the first pick. Please give me your thoughts if the NFL should adapt something similar to what he NBA has.....

I like the current system. I think it's more difficult to tank because of the fewer games played in the NFL vs. the NBA.

The ping bong balls NBA lottery is a joke . As bad as holding this draft in Vegas with jugglers magicians and clowns …circus . Old school give me the picks spare me the ringling bros Barnum & Bailey

in my opinion there are only 3 things needed to fix the draft.
1.bring back the helmet phones.
america wants them.
in a recent poll i saw...100% responded...yes...when asked if they want a return of the helmet phones.
2.more air time of mel kiper and louis riddick on a giant white board breaking down each pick and best available.
no tv host.
no live band.
announce the pick and let kiper and riddick break it down.
finally...3...the draft order gets flipped.
success gets rewarded...not failure.
super bowl champs get the first pick.
worst teams pick last.
winning>losing.
success>failure.
to the victors go the spoils.
to the losers...leftovers.
:thumbup:ipso-fatso...draft fixed:thumbup:

It’s an interesting concept to reward the success clubs with the elite picks but if the Lions & Jags continually go 3-13 -1 and then pick at the bottom what hope is left . At that point the Lions should join the Mid America conf and go to war with the Toledo Mud Hens .

Everyone starts with the same number of chances lets say its ping pong style lottery machine. So each team gets one ball in that machine, the 10 sorriest teams record wise get will get more ping pong balls, 10th worst team gets 3 additional balls, 9 th worst team gets 4, so on and so forth that way the worst team has the highest statistical chance to get #1. once a team gets an awarded choice 1-10 their ping pong balls are removed. picks 11-32 would be based on where you finished the season

I would prefer if ping pong balls were left out of drafting Micah Parsons and such talent . I know what your saying that giving the Lions and Jets top picks every year is unfair but it doesn’t seemed to have helped them much .

Sooner or later there will be lawsuits filled by some big name super star college players to free themselves from the indentured servant system the NFL has created.
The will argue, correctly, that it is unconstitutional to be forced at a specific location or for a specific employer.

The NFL needs to scrap the draft all together and go to a college recruiting system where any team can negotiate with any player.

That case would be dismissed almost immediately. Right after the judge stopped laughing.

Players who are drafted don't have to sign with the drafting team. There are other football leagues they could play for, CFL, USFL, EFL, FCF, etc.

it would be illegal if not for the fact that the NFLPA exists and has a collective bargaining agreement in place, which means antitrust laws don’t apply.

Before the NFLPA, it was illegal and was in the process of being found illegal (see Yazoo Smith), but that case was made irrelevant with the creation of the union.

It’s the same story for all the major sports leagues except MLB, which actually does have an antitrust exemption granted by the Supreme Court in a very strange decision in the ‘20s.

I like the current system also and think tanking happens very minimally. Mainly because these players might not have a job next year so they want stats and good performances. An organization might openly play backups like we've seen in the past but at least it's not total tank mode.

#3 would make the league worse, IMO.

I just want them to announce the pick once it comes it, and don't sit there and use all the allotted time just to add needless commentary views of the phone call that ALWAYS go the same. Player answers, hears he's picked, family goes wild and mobs the player, and then 30 seconds of hugging and crying. Yeah, it's nice to see but it doesn't need to be seen for every pick.

they could just not sign and i believe be eligable for the draft again the next year.
or play for another league.

Hate the lottery systems, weak teams need the top picks.
