So the thing about Sam Williams is that how he was used in college will be nothing like how he will be used in the pros.

Ole Miss ran a weird 3-2 front that lined Williams head-up on a tackle for most of his snaps, sometimes even shaded inside. So squaring up on tackles and trying to fight through them, he does kind of look like a Terrell Suggs-ish power rusher, winning with long-arm moves and upper body strength.

But Quinn is going to line him up wide and ask him to speed rush. He didn't do a ton of that in college, but his measurables and the handful of out-wide snaps he did get show that he could win differently than he did at Ole Miss.
exactly@ "Suggsish" is a great term. I see that as well. I said that 2.

I had forgotten that players' name, and was trying to remember him, because he was comparable to Suggs. The name just slipped my mind because it had been so long.

I want opinions from the board. I hear his first step is the best in the draft. Imagine if he wasn’t 261. At 250 he might run 4.3.
Few times I saw him play he reminded me of Trent Cole… but then, I hated Trent Cole and I’m in Louisiana! Hopefully he’ll grow on me in the upcoming years!

Amare Barno - 6'5 246 4.36

Derrick Thomas - 6'3 234 4.58
Jason Taylor - 6'5 243 4.67
Von Miller - 6'3 246 4.42
Randy Gregory - 6'5 235 4.64
DeMarcus Ware - 6'4 251 4.53

And I'd play Barno at OLB simply because he is still too raw as EDGE.
It's build, not weight.

Nowadays, it's about build and athleticism.

I have a feeling Barno develops. Just a hunch on my part.

But I think Williams will too. And he's much like Randy Gregory. I think people are underestimating his pass rushing skills.

He can bring the heat in our system, I imagine.

Barno, though, sheesh, you could put that guy at receiver, or in the secondary even. So fast. Faster than most WRs, CBS, RBs...Two years of muscle, NFL workout routine, and that guy is coming to the game.

Williams is up there with them, though, and he does have some experience. Apparently, he was indeed a first round talent, but the Cowboys are downplaying that, and putting the baby faced Tyler Smith up there.. The snuck Williams on in the 2nd.

You gotta look at this from a PR standpoint. They obviously were working with the draft personnel..

He had a decent game against Notre Dame, even though they double-teamed him all game.

Ynacik Ngakwie? No idea if it spelled it right…

Good pass rush potential but below average run player as a prospect.

Oh, you mean he's available.

Would be a nice addition.

Cowboys worked him out a long time ago.. So, maybe..

That would rile people up.

is that the miss st kid who got drafted by arizona?
He's talking about Yannick Ngakoue who was drafted by Jags 3rd rnd in 2016. He has 55.5 sks in 6 years but with 4 different teams. He's not anything athletically like Sam Williams. And the run stopping issues that Sam is suppose to have is overblown since people still don't seem to understand that he was forced to play 4i technique in a 3 man defensive line. The NT next to him was only 280. Quinn has already mentioned this same thing and that he won't be asking Sam to do the same techniques he had to do at Ole Miss.
