The more I think about the Amari trade the more I like it

Gallup signed a below market contract to stay with the Cowboys. His Contract is only 12.5 million annually. Gallup would have gotten way more money from another team.
I think Gallup is better than many credit him to be. He's not used to his capabilities IMO. We got a bargain

Cooper was underated and under utilized here. Gallup is over rated and so far CD is too. Moore has to do a better job designing plays to get CD open enough so Dak will throw to him even when he's not wide open. If not then he will be another cooper, good but not great.

IMO, there's really no liking or disliking the move. It was a salary cap move that was necessary. If MM's plan is to have a contending team in 2023, then these are absolutely 100% the correct moves. I mean, look at all the big tough and mean players we've been adding to the roster. No more ballet dancers, these guys are mountain movers.

Just further evidence to support the MM hire.

Cooper was worth way more than a 5th round pick. I had no problem trading him, but I had a big problem with what they got for him. Should have kept him. The same with La'el Collins.

Amari was the best WR on the team, they traded him for nothing just to save 20m. Then they give half the money to an injured Gallup. It makes no sense.

cooper was a bright spot, inspiration when he joined and opened up our offence, I always get attached to liking players, but they all can;t stay their careers with the cowboys,

Gallup's contract is fine for a good WR. $12-14 million per year is a fair contract for receivers in Gallup's tier.

Between this post and the other posts you're currently engaging with me in I believe your agenda is clear.

I've seen all I need to see to know that conversation with you is a waste of time.

Your agenda has been clear since you started on this site. Calling out your bs is the only agenda I have.

I wouldn't have paid Gallup so much to stay. Honestly this team still doesn't get it with resigning players. You resign great players to large contracts not good players. Gallup is a good player, not great. Amari was a very good player, not great. Shultz is a good player, not great. I really hope they don't sign him to a long term deal. I would've had no problem letting them 2 walk. Shultz could be replaced with the pick we just made or McKeon. Tolbert is very comparable to Gallup and Cooper. Receivers are a dime a dozen as are tight ends. Now you get your hands or could get your hands on a TO or Moss or Gronk, or a game changer thats one thing but for the most part they could all be easily replaced. Besides Randy Moss the QB makes the receiver.

This is nonsense. First off recovers aren’t a dime a dozen. It’s why teams are trading top picks to other teams to get receivers. It’s also why they are getting massive contracts. A lot bigger than what Cooper was getting paid. It’s also why 6 receivers were taking in the 1st 20 picks in the draft.

Cowboys could have redone Coopers contract just like the Browns did and made it more team friendly. Now Cowboys have a lot of cap space and nothing to spend it on and a worse team.

Lol...you own nothing, I like calling you bs out. That's not rent free son, it's gratifying...lol
It's def. rent free space in your head if you only agenda when you come here is to find what I've posted and miserably try to argue it.

The one thing that will make the losses the Cowboys have next year easier to take will be laughing and making fun of posters like yourself.

Again, I got you coming back time and time again even while you say it's a "waste of time" at the same exposing your bs takes. Again it's gratifying. You have no idea what's happening or what rent free is...lol I'm having fun wasting you time:flagwave:

I think a lot of you are going to be surprised at just how much Cooper made everyone better.
My sentiments exactly.. Cooper's value to this offense went far beyond his NUMBERS. Every opposing defense the Cowboys played against, had to account for Cooper because of his PRECISE route running and EXCEPTIONAL SPEED. Say what you will about him, but Cooper is a [TRUE #1 WR]. He will definitely be missed..
