Kiper has a job based on name recognition. Hire him as a GM and he would fail faster than Mike Mayock. It’s amazing that these media guys and some fans think they are more knowledgeable than teams that have a team of scouts watching film, interviewing the players, and working out the players. The most laughable thing is when I hear a fan say that a player was over drafted or they didn’t have the player as high on THEIR board.
And this "value" nonsense. Got a buddy who insisted until he was forced to retire that Fredbeard was a bad pick due to poor "value". Yeah, terrible, got the best C in the game, but it was poor "value". How ridiculous.

Look for some awesome tight end blocking from Jake Ferguson from Wisconsin, whose players usually are better in the pros. Jake is an A+ blocker, 4 year starter. He will be the best blocking TE on the Boys ever, not named Billy Joe Dupree and Jason Witten.

He will make an immensely big improvement in the running game. He is a ready to play, all purpose TE, a better blocker than the other TE's in the draft. He needs no learning curve. He will make a big impact from the outset. His slower 4.81 speed kept him from being a 2nd round pick. But he does not have to run longer routes. In addition, although not fast, Jake catches everything, knows how to get open, and is a super smart player on the field. I want him in on all short yardage plays and at goal line snaps.

"A linebacker, receiver, punter, and all-around specialist for Madison Memorial High School, Jake Ferguson entered his tenure at the University of Wisconsin needing time to heal his body and develop into a serviceable tight end over time. He has ended up doing more than that. In a Wisconsin passing game that could best be described as sporadic during his tenure, Ferguson has been the one constant. He’s been a reliable tight end for a multitude of quarterbacks – Alex Hornibrook, Jack Coan, Graham Mertz, and Chase Wolfand made plays no matter how banged up or bruised he is."

“He makes plays when plays need to be made. He gets open for a pass, he’s making a play. That’s the thing we preach about him is his unselfishness. He doesn’t care how many receptions he’s getting. He cares about winning, and you can see that with the way he works.”

“He’s unselfish in the run game,” Beach said. “He blocks the hell out of guys. It’s so awesome to see that.”

Dalton was drafted as a top blocking TE out of Stanford. But he was a horrible blocker last year. Ferguson has NFL TE blocking skills right now, knowing angles, leveraging and has superior on-field intelligence. In addition, he catches everything thrown his way. Great hands.
he looks good, hope he still looks good after cowboys "coach him up"

Technique is right where it needs to be the issue is size. And that can be fixed.

Yes, we can dip him into a black hole at the center of our galaxy for only 10 trillionth of a second and that will stretch him 2 feet. I did the calculation!

That first sentence needs a regular BUMP.

In a strange, varied and inconsistent draft, I think Lance Zierlein's write up of Ferguson is one of the most confusing and non-committal of all....it's as if it was written by three different people with split personalities, on three different days. If I had to sum it up i'd say he didnt suit playing at Wisconsin.

- It's a reason why they are called " highlights" ... and they are designed to show good half of players.
Just hope Ferguson is one that plays faster than what he 40 time runs,.. and he blocks better what was advertised in college.

- i've never read from the more valid scouting profiles that he was a A+ blocker, ..in fact it was totally opposite. as one that needs to improve..
Even those highlights brings to mind of Shultz 2.0 ...so we will have any TE than can consistently separate from man coverage ?

Ferguson is not an A+ blocker.

It's like people just say things for the hell of it.

Schultz does. It's not about 40 times, especially in the short area.
