Accountability will forever be a weakness of this team and organization so long as this ownership is in place. This supersedes any on-field positional weaknesses.

On-field, the Cowboys are weak at:
  • Offensive line - league average at center, at best average at right tackle, unknown at left guard, and declining at left tackle. No proven swing tackle to speak of, and this is even more troubling when you consider Tyron Smith's health issues.
  • Tight end - The Cowboys have a volume production tight end, and a glaring lack of blocking at the position. Ferguson is a player who would maintain the status quo if Schultz were to leave, but he's the kind of player that you will look to improve upon.
  • 3T - The Cowboys have bodies, but middling production at best. They need someone to step up, but I'm not sure that there's anyone on the roster with the capability of being anything more than average.
  • 1T - Bohanna was replacement level last year, and Ridgeway was a fifth round shot at getting someone to hold up against the run. Carlos Watkins is just a guy on most teams who may log more snaps than his production level dictates. The Cowboys don't prioritize this position, and it shows.
  • LB depth - Aside from Parsons, more questions than answers. If Jabril Cox doesn't fully recover and step up this year, the position is the worst on the team.
  • Kicker - a great unknown in terms of what they have with Jonathan Garibay. They should bring in a proven vet for competition, but I don't expect that they will.
A lot of questions on a team that didn't view free agency as a solution to any of them. It's hard to look at this team as presently constituted, and think that they are improved from a season ago. It's also hard to look at this team as presently constituted, and think that they are at the level of last year's team.

Back up QB looks weak to me.

Still wonder why we didn't take a player like Sam Howell or Carson Strong.

I think the Commanders finally got a decent QB.
