First, they are called highlights for a reason. Second, he played at Liberty, not exactly at the top level of college football. Third, he's a 6-2, 224-pound linebacker who runs a 4.6 40. So he's probably not, but you never know.

I figure he's a good candidate to switch to the role Kearse plays, but I don't know if he's fast enough. Of course, Kearse's 40 was similar at a lower weight.

He'll get his chances in TC, along with all of the LBs. The LB position is a much needed one, so there's a good chance he'll get some reps. Whether he manages to get a spot on the Cowboys roster is another story, entirely. Perhaps special teams or a spot on the practice squad would be his best bet.

Just as fast as Kearse.

Almost exact same measurables as JoJo Domann.

And bigger and very likely faster than Nakobe Dean.

Like the above mentioned players Jackson plays faster than timed speed and more physical than his size would warrant.

I like his IQ and nose for ball more than Harper and Hansford.

Dean is around the same weight, and even slower at 4.7 40.

Storey could end up being a gem for sure.

I was looking at his highlights and he seems to be for real.
Just looking & reviewing the various threads post-draft....CZers expressing a lot of faith & hope in the rookies - Storey Jackson, Sam Williams, Markquese Bell, John Ridgeway, Tyler Smith, Jalen Tolbert, etc.

maybe.
likes to hit.
always around the ball.
cool name.
be awesome if he does.
we do have a rich history with finding gems among the udfa rubble.
That is one thing I praise our GM and FO for. We do have a knack for finding gems in UDFA. I also like the safety we got. I feel he may be the gem that shocks people. But I feel Jackson has a shot. I'm rooting for him.

So Malik Willis should be judged like that because he went to Liberty as well right? The way I look at it, if you can play, then it doesnt matter where you went to school at.

Ditto here.
- So long as Storey Jackson can prove he plays bigger and stronger than what his
listed size suggest. Maybe he can be another Kwon Alexander.
Same for Jabril Cox.

- While Storey is being profiled her as being athletic one to watch on this thread, there's another guy that i'm keepin' an eye watch on in Texas A&M LB Aaron Hansford, who was a 4 star recruit out of high school, he's a converted WR to LB, so he's still learning the LB position. Athletic with size (239 lbs) and fluidness.

- Like LSU's Damone Clarke, Hansford has played both LB roles, inside and out.
Ourlads' profile scouts him as "consistently makes plays in space" Has every down potential in due time as he's likely to work special teams.

I really hope hidden gems like Cox, Storey, Hansford and Harper emerge, surprises and works out for us ..because we really do desperately need the LB depth.

We're so very super razor thin at that position and unit.

The point is that it is easier to look good against weaker competition. No matter who you are there is a steeper step up to the pros from the lower level of Division 1 or lesser conferences than from the Power 5.

In some ways, quarterbacks can be easier to judge because you are looking at things like arm strength and accuracy, but a linebacker who stands out might simply be because of level of competition. That certainly doesn't mean he can't play on this level, but it is a question mark.

The fact that we use outside free agency so poorly makes it desperate for us to hit on rookies. I enjoy seeing how these players turn out anyway, but we not only need depth but standout starters to make up for not improving in free agency.

Yeah. You don't know. I keep my expectations low and my hopes high, not just with him, but with all rookies. You never know when you're going to end up with a Taco in the first round or a Ratliff in the seventh round. Sometimes with the UDFAs, it's the player we might least expect to succeed who shows that he can on this level.

Odds are stacked against him.
Very stacked
But he may be able to find a role to stick in the league if he’s open to being the best ST player on the field
If he can add 20 lbs and keep the same speed would be huge
He is about the same weight as Dean but more skinny than Dean. He has the frame to maybe add the pounds
But at this point his best shot if ST and make himself valuable there
