Most guys get really comfortable after they get paid. It takes a special player to continue to strive for greatness. I don’t think Zeke or Dak are those guys.
That's true.

My hope is that Parsons doesn't fall into that, but only time will tell. Lord knows with the Cowboys you are given ever opportunity to take the easy road.

I find it more telling that it's widely regarded that Parsons is the main leader and the dog on this team.

I thought Dak and Zeke was supposed to be that type of person? I guess when a real dog (Parsons) finally walks in it shows everyone who the wannabes are.

Dak is the QB. He is the defacto leader. He is not a dog though. And the real difference between Parsons and Dak is that when Parsons steps on the field, he earns respect with his play. Dak not so much. Dak makes phone calls, Parson punishes people.

I think once he called out Dak for not getting more balls thrown his way, the writing was on the wall. BTW, Cooper was not wrong.
That was floating around, but I never saw an actual source of it. Seemed to be something fabricated by an internet poster from what I recall.

The straw that broke the camel’s back was when Cooper missed unnecessary games last year in a crucial stretch for home field advantage. If you can’t trust a $20mil a year player to do what’s right for the team, you must move on. And they did.

Irvin is an honorary Jones at this point.

He's too much of a homer to take serious.
There's a litany of illigitimate children that would give anything to be honorary Joneses. Michael should feel blessed that he's in the inner circle.

Or maybe just a little queasy.

Cooper was right... but Dak should have called Cooper out for disappearing on the road and in big games like David Copperfield.

Moore's offense doesn't feature 1 receiver like that. That is the root of Coop's issue and going after Dak seems to miss the point.

Dumb fans criticize or cheapen Michael Irvins Opinion on reason behind Amari Cooper trade...

The dummies actual forgot that Irvin wrote the book on Talented Dog mentality at Miami and Mastered in 3 Superbowl Championships as the No.1 Dog on the team....

I listened to half of it, Irvin basically saying he's heard that Cooper's personality and competitiveness had something to do with it. Seems like Cooper just rubs a lot of people the wrong way.

Personally I think that's overblown, but I'm pretty aloof myself so I feel like I see that in him.

i think you post it best when describing the Cooper departure.

- For the money they re-signed him up for, they did not think he was an alpha male .. more beta than alpha. He wasn't a loud diva, but he was too casual a personality.
and his competitive and drive was questioned.

- And skipping the vax when the team was pressed for his services to be big games certainly did not help matters.
Even both Irvin and Jerry publicly spoke out vs Cooper on that matter.

- Me? I already had my reserves about Cooper, in that i need his top competitiveness vs the more competitive top coverage CBs.
Despite his persistent nagging injuries, Coop did tried to gut it out and get in the games.

Fact is they have really handicapped the offense with the decision they made on WR/Cooper this offseason. Period.

Gallup hurt and will miss time and they should have signed Cedric. Dak is gonna struggle.

Lamb with as much hype as he gets should be good enough. They need to figure that out now and not later.

I agree with Mike. If your number one wide receiver can't fire up the crowd, then why is he your number one? From Irving to Owens to Dez, the crowd loved all of those guys. They energized us, then the team fed off the crowds energy. Every team needs that sparkplug player, IMO. Lamb has that Cooper doesn't.

Cooper has been label as a guy that disappears in road games. A guy that lacks passion and fire. The reason for that is Cooper will not take that big hit over the middle to catch the ball. There have been several instances here where Dak threw to Cooper and Cooper stopped on the route. It even cost us a game one time, if you guys remember. Lamb with his small frame will take that hit and laugh at the DB who delivered it. Lamb will fight for every inch he can get, but Cooper is the one talking about he needs more targets.

Cooper's effort across the middle was lacking. Cooper's effort on run plays was lacking. But he wanted more targets. Go watch Cooper's highlights from last year. They won't fire you up or leave a smile on your face. Then watch Lambs highlights. That's why Cooper isn't worth 20 million, he's got no fight in him. How the heck can you be a complete WR if you don't want to run block. How can you be a complete WR if you don't want to go across the middle. Dak lost faith in Cooper after he cost us that game, IMO.

So Irvin is right on this one, IMO.

Cooper is gone because he pissed Jerry off twice. The Covid thing and the Kirk Cousins quote. Add a large cap number and they gave him away. Anything else to it? Probably come out down the road
