I saw this on the news yesterday. The passenger did an amazing job landing the plane.

Immediately afterwards he was seen at the bar. (I kid.)

Remember this guy? He got an 80 passenger, turbo prop, off the tarmac, out to a runaway and airborne on nothing but PC flight simulator experience and a tiny bit of cockpit exposure he got from his job as part of a tow crew at the airport.

Once airborne he flew around for awhile then pulled off a maneuver that the experts say is impossible in that airframe, before he said goodbye and crashed into an island.

I once set up several monitors together and bought the realistic Boeing flight sticks to nerd out on Microsoft Flight Simulator. Good stuff and I could see how someone could get at least basic training. Everything in that cockpit is on your monitors and you can pick all types of scenarios.

They didn't land those planes, which is the hardest part. It doesn't take much precision to hit two of the largest buildings in the world.
